Second was a radiator leak, and I was informed that the original ones for my model year sometimes had this issue. Third was the sunroof malfunctioning -- a steel cable came out of the track and it was stuck in the open position. Thanks for doing the Alfa Giulia review. You now know what I feel every time I get in and drive mine. A 2.0L turbo will never have a lot of sound and with the Alfa that is very OK. It allows you to crank up the totally superior Sound system. Nobody ever reviews the sound systems odd enough. Speaker placement in the Giulia gives the driver and passenger a real audio experience to go along with the feel of the road you now know well. Yes.IMHO the sound system in the Giulia is fantastic. And this is just the base (non HK) system. May have to with cabin size and speaker placement. I drive a bunch of new MBs and Volvos as a shuttle driver and there is no comparison. You don’t need 14 speakers to get good sound. I have music on a flash drive so I can say this is apples to apples. Cabin is very quiet so music really is a great surround sound experience. Like having the band playing live from the back seat.

I've had a Guilia for almost 2 years and it's been trouble free. The steering is very quick and darts into turns. Engine is quite good for a 280 hp turbocharged car. Since these cars don't sell very well, it's quite easy to get $5,000+ off asking price. So, the actual price range of a base or Sport (not the Sport Ti) is really around the mid $35k range.

As I recall, and I could be wrong, when the Guilia was introduced, most reviewers gave it an A for handling, performance and exterior styling but a C or worse for quirky controls and interior appointments. All performed by dealership under warranty. 3. “Max Oil Level Exceeded” warning. My fault, I topped it up too much! Had dealer drain oil and perform first service at same time. 4. Door mirrors would misalign after starting car and not go back to preset memory positions. Happened after the 20k Service. Took car back and they replaced switches in doors to fix. This took a few days (had to order the parts) so they gave me a loaner. Done under warranty. .5. Two CEL’s. Both due to vacuum hose on intake coming off. My gf has a 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio and it handles amazingly, minimal body roll, super direct and tight steering and while sporty, still smooth and refined / comfortable. The main gripes with the Alfa are just quirks and electronics (infotainment). I can't believe that they put that archaic infotainment in a car in 2019 and have such terrible speakers if you don't upgrade to Harmon Kardon (my iPhone 12 sounds better)... The updates and slight refinements for the 2020 model fix most of the issues, but Alfa Romeo still has more work to do. Simple things like not having the front parking sensors blare when you have the car in reverse and have pulled forward into a spot and are close to a car or fence in front of you. The blindspot also blares in many instances when other luxury competitors (Mercedes/BMW) have figured out it's not a real risk. Outside of that, the car has been awesome and the pros more than make up for the handful of quirky cons.

I bought a 2021 Giulia today in Stromboli Gray (of course it’s named after food) and when I looked in the storage bin, I though, “he’s right, I can fit two cannolis in here.”

It actually does not have LED headlights. It still has the older HID headlights....

Love it - though the review car has too many options....lower optioned car for $10k less is much better deal and 98% of driving experience.

I wish there was a middle option between the 2.0 and the Quadrifoglio, something to go against the M340i and C43.
@AlokSomani3 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Somewhere between 330 and 350hp would suit this car beautifully. Maybe 350 with a naturally aspirated V6...that would be my perfect balance.
@AlokSomani3 жыл бұрын
I should note that with a few common modifications -- cold air intake, exhaust upgrade, and ECU tune -- you can get this car all the way up to 350hp with the existing 2.0 engine. I would just be worried about long term consequences from pushing the 2.0 that far.

Hit the button before you start panicking that made me Subscribe to his channel plus many enthusiasts are they are describing cars but for some reason this guy takes it to the next level talking about a vehicle like he works for them or helped to build the car really nice

Wow bought a BMW a few months ago but this was a close second definitely based on this video! Great job!

You likely made a better choice. Pretty car, but reliability isn’t up to par in this class and depreciation is even worse.

Great review Joe. I loved the Alfa history lesson and badge explanation. I test drove one this weekend and agree that the steering is telepathic. This Alfa is crying for a dual mode exhaust to help bring out that Italian exhaust note. It’s currently as quiet as a church mouse. Being an Alfa Romeo I would only entertain leasing one due to Alfa’s depreciation and sketchy reliability track record.

I'd buy one, beats what's been coming out of BMW lately

I’ve been driving BMWs for decades, but these new ones with all the superfluous body panel folds and GIGANTIC kidney grills are a big turn off to me. I’m on my way to my local Alfa dealership today with my 2011 328xi to check out a 2020 Giulia. I’ll miss my manual gearbox, though. 😢

IS there a good site to view reliability info on these? Repairpal has nothing. US News has nothing. England sites have it as the 2nd least reliable brand. But looks like an epic car.

Bro same!! I’ve been looking at this 2020 but nothing on reliability or how to keep the maintenance up. I don’t wanna go to a dealership 😂😂 but for 20,000 and 14,689 is not bad at all!!

I haven't watched the video yet, but I remember the first time I saw this car's interior it disappointed. Hopefully, it doesn't this time! Great videos by the way!!

Gorgeous car and agree that it needs the carbon blade spoiler on the trunk. I would definitely consider this car if I was in the market for a car like it. I would still probably lean towards a C43 but the Giulia is a great looking car.
