Hello and thank-you for you very good video, I don't know when you produced this video but I am posting this message to let you know that you can get this bike in Canada since a few weeks ago. I bought mine a few weeks ago and it is the same color as you show in your video, beautiful color. What a great bike, I am not no ebike expert but to me I have the same results as you mentioned, this bike is perfect for my needs. One thing I think you forgot to say is that the bike comes in 2 sizes for shorter or taller people. Have a great day!😄

Thanks for this timely review, Tim! I’m getting close to pulling the trigger and have it narrowed down to this or the Sidekick Fat Pro. With a declining lower back I need upright and comfortable, which I think either bike is, but at 6’2” and 280, I’m pushing the upper limit of the Sidekick, especially with a little bit of luggage.

Awesome @facilitiesmaintenancebyarne, let me know which one you go with...I'll be on my Sidekick Fat Pro this afternoon to get to two different soccer fields (referee) still loving it...and it has the best ride in my opinion...the combination of rear shock, front shock, comfy seat and fat tires makes even the suspension bridge with wooden slats comfy :)

@@TimsElectric what a glorious day to run up and down the field for 3 hours! I appreciate the feedback and will keep you posted. As a short-legged tall guy (32" inseam), I am a little concerned that the cockpit might feel a little cramped for my tall upper body & long arms on a sight unseen purchase like the Velotric D2... whereas when I sat on the Sidekick Fat Pro at AlterEgo, I didn't feel cramped at all.

It's really all about the feel...if you feel comfy on the Sidekick..go for it :) And do say hello to the folks down at Alter Ego Bikes :) I don't think they have any discount codes but you can always ask..say you saw the reviews...are there any discount codes for TimsElectric :) Let me know which way you go :) :) Cheers

Hi Tim, From one West-coastie to another I want to say that I really appreciate your informative and entertaining reviews. Your review of your friend Eric's Velotric D2, even though this is not where I landed, really helped me find the bike for me. Knowing Velotric was "quality", I took a look at their lineup and discovered the hillbilly cousin to the Discover 2... the Nomad 1! And at 6' 2" with short-ish legs, the more open cockpit of the Nomad 1 is a great fit for my disproportionally tall upper body and freakishly long arms, lol. It's also worth mentioning that the 440 lb capacity will have no troubles with my 285lb frame, plus gear. And while not as refined as the D2 (think of it as a burlier, more powerful version of the earlier D1), it ticks off all the boxes for the type of riding that I do... straight up recreational riding over road, hill and dale. The limited purchase options here in Canada weren't a setback when I discovered that, as a Canadian distributor, Best Buy also carries the Nomad 1 - even better as it was on sale for $500 off. Add to this the $300 Best Buy voucher that has been burning a hole in my pocket, and my out the door price was under $1,400... so it was a hard deal to pass up. It's not the Nomad "Plus" version, but that's okay as the changes between the two are quite minor. I really thought I was going to land on the SideKick FAT Pro (and my wife the Trail PRO 3), as the FAT Pro fits me and I love the features... but at the end of the day I just wasn't comfortable riding right at the limit of its weight capacity of 300 lbs. If you're ever on the mainland and want to review a Nomad, let me know! And we will say "hi" and ask about a @TimsElectric discount at AlterEgo when we purchase my wife's bike! Cheers, Arne

Wow Arne, thank you so much for leaving your comment ...I would love to review it if I hit the mainland in the Spring I might hunt you down lol :) I know we have a lot of rain for the next few days but do let me know how it works out for you :) :) $500 off...sounds like a screaming deal :) :) Have fun and say hi to the folks at AlterEgo...good people :) :) Cheers Tim @facilitiesmaintenancebyarne

It now has both a torque sensor and cadence sensor, they are switchable in the menu.

What suspension seat post is on this bike? The discover 2 doesn't come with a suspension post.

Velotric sells the suspension seat as an accessory on their website.
