What instrument do YOU think is the hardest to learn?

Should I, finally, sell some of my electric guitars a get a violin? And, Mr. Instrument Alias, there is no such a thing as an easy instrument, because what ever you invent, there is someone who just squeeze all the possibilities out of it. Moreover, the more simple the instrument, the less it helps the player. On the other hand, the less it limits player's options. Generally, the recorder is regarded as an easy thing, even a toy. Listen to Kristine West or Lucie Horsch and come back to tell me when you play like them. Adding anything to that, well, toy, can make playing easier. But it will also limit the players possibilities to play glissandos and such. The guitar is also an easy instrument. After few weeks, or even faster, you can strum some chords to accompany singing. Go listen to, for example, Alexandra Wittingham. I don't know where musicians like her get those fifth and sixth fingers. I cannot see them, but I am sure I hear them. The finger control is superhuman. But yes. The violin. It is attractive!

yes all instruments when played well are hard. You can say that about most things and I agree mostly with your assessment. But I do love what Itzakh Perlman once said. Noting the difference between learning the violin and the Piano he says.. at a beginners first piano lesson they play the piano at a beginners first violin lesson they don't play the violin. Is violin the hardest, debateable...is it difficult...100%.
