I think the reason they don’t care about the 9m is because on a personal basis they take chunks in credits from welcome to Wrexham before the tv show passes any money to Wrexham. My guess is that they have already recouped their up front funding. And who would deny them that.
@TheLongPlayUK4 ай бұрын
I certainly won’t. They’ve done amazing and they’ve got me tuned into their every move. More success to them, they deserve every penny
@AdamGee82 ай бұрын
Absolutely.. I see a lot of people put them down and say they’re just able to outspend but if their owners did the same they’d be cheering it on… I think they’ve been amazing. Great for the community and fans love it. Once they get to EFL it’s a big step up financially but I don’t foresee any issues with them still putting a competitive team out. And they’ve got unlimited connections on potential investors coming on. And as Dolly said 9 milll is a tiny price to pay for back to back promotions and further they go the revenue will greatly increase.

@AdamGee8 After the first 10 games Wrexham is is 2nd place of League 1, and Rob and Ryan aren't even the wealthiest owners in this division, it is clear that people who cry about the club only being good because the owners are rich are just envious

The biggest thing people miss out on in this venture is that the biggest benefit is to the town itself, especially to the football supports and fans in Wrexham. It created jobs, it created tourism and gave people hope. To be stuck on the National league for many years and suddenly now they're in League One with hopes and actually good chances of eventually getting into the Championship. RR McReynolds both fell in love with football and the town and so did a lot of viewers of the TV show. I have never heard of Wrexham before this show and yet it got me searching their history and celebrating their triumph in their football games.

How many jobs? A dozen? How much new tourism do they really see? This "benefits the town" is nonsense. It benefits football fans, that's about it
@hotchango15072 ай бұрын
If more and more people are going to wrexham to watch the games they are spending on local foods, services, and hospitality. That is generating “new money” because it is from tourists rather than money from the townspeople themselves.

R&R have brought Wrexham to the world for ‘only’ 9million. That is an achievement. Plus it’s a great story, but better than that it’s brought back quality football to Wrexham. It’s win/win all the way for the town. These guys have bought business clout to, lets face it, a non entity football club and made a success of it, it’s such a good story. Everybody loves an underdog making their story into a success and boy haven’t they done good. And it’s made me into a supporter

The end game is to sell. It's not about how much profit you make, it's about what you're worth. Lots of valuable companies lose lots of money but that's fine because a large chunk of the value is completely subjective and based on opinion. The real question is whether 9m in losses is within the business plan.
@jakecollin54992 ай бұрын
They already addressed this months ago on podcasts, radio interviews and KZbin interviews. Their business plan is going amazing. Their only issue moving forward is they will need to bring outside investment for the Prem. They already acknowledged this and are putting the infrastructure in place to grow. They've been transparent about all of it. They've also been investing much of those "losses" into a women's team, stadium infrastructure, community infrastructure and outreach and youth. They could've comfortably invested more into players this year. They're doing great, which I think many find frustrating. Turns out networking and transparency does in fact work.
@l4nd3r2 ай бұрын
Yes. It's part of the investment into the club to get to at least the Championship where you can earn a decent buck as fast as possible and then plan for the Premier League push. Eventually i think they will sell if they get bored, but so far i think there's a lot of things they are enjoying about owning a football club in Wales.
@markpbowen5 ай бұрын
Love how you put these videos together. As for Rob and Ryan. This is just the investment stage to get Wrexham where they want them. If the debts were just football related I would be worried as it wouldn’t be sustainable. They are however making money via other companies media and other brands they own etc. which are linked to the club. So long as the debt is covered by the clubs overall value they are fine. Club has to be worth £10-15 million today. They are, so far, excellent business people. Time will tell if football turns them into crazy business people, as it has in the past with many other owners. Keep up the great videos.

One key thing is that not only would Wrexham be worth hundreds of millions if they were to make it to the Premier League ... they were bought for a 2 million investment and would TODAY be worth 10 million or more if sold, so the capital gains of the club are keeping pace with the amount "owed" to the co-owners. While they are going to make a push for the playoff spots at the very least, so spending on players will rise again, I expect the 5 million pound loss is going to go down -- not just from the growth in sponsorship income, but also from a move of their kit to a first tier sports merchandiser. For the last two seasons, Wrexham shirts were constantly sold out.
@TheLongPlayUK5 ай бұрын
I recorded this before the announcement of the investment in Homage. Another shrewd move which will allow them as you say, to benefit even more from their massive retail presence. Theyve also announced another US Pre-season tour where they'll face Chelsea again and likely Necaxa too. The kit manufacturer deal is a sound one.

To state the obvious, they could recoup their investment and more should Wrexham reach the Championship and it would equate to pennies on the pound if they went on to win promotion to the Premiership... The team has done well to come so far in such a short space of time and the owners, who seem genuinely emotionally invested but remember they are actors, deserve huge credit for that. Relatively speaking though, this is the easy part. They'll find life a lot tougher, both on and off the pitch, in the Championship which is generally considered to be one of the most competitive leagues in the world and the kind of money required to pay for next level infrastructure and players with no guarantee of promotion to the promised land might change the equation. Disney aren't going to pay for five seasons of Championship football and without the exposure of the TV show, they'll struggle to attract sponsors like American Airlines.

Wrexham's advantage may run out in League One but certainly will in the Championship. Rob and Ryan don't seem likely to abandon this project any time soon. The pain on their faces when Wrexham loses is evidence that football has completely captured their hearts.
@karlpk39072 ай бұрын
Excellent content. You have a new subsriber. Ryan Reynold has a net worth of at least $300 million. If he own, say, 66% of Wrexham, a $10 million cash loss is not nothing, but it's not the end of the world either. Rob and Ryan are building not just a club, but an asset. He can keep going another 5 years at this rate and grab a serious pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Stadium expansion is the key. If Swansea can get into the Premier league, why not Wrexham? Staying up is another matter, but they will cross that bridge when they come to it.

Think that in football terms, the next stage will be much harder for Wrexham. Yes they've had 2 promotions but this is mainly because they had the financial muscle to build a squad of players many from higher divisions. That gave them an advantage but higher up the leagues money doesn't always equate with success. And they were the biggest club (more or less) in those divisions but in League 1 they won't be. It all depends on who they can bring in. The manager and structure of the club. This will have to change. And yes Luton, Fulham etc. have gone up to the top but for every one of them there's a Birmingham or Oldham going the other way.
