Why is the state paying professional athletes to win shiny trinkets at the Olympic & empire games for sports 99.9% of people only watch for a few minutes every couple of years? Taking money from mostly poor people who play the lottery to give it to mostly middle class people who play minority sports, so they can win medals at a ceremony where a 'national' anthem will be sung entirely about a stupendously wealthy man whose piratical ancestry isn't even British. We have thousands of Brits living on the streets, millions in poverty, & crumbling public services. Wasting money to win medals at elite sport to trick people into thinking they live in a decent country is deranged.

The problem is that just because I have a billion, it doesn't look good when I spend that billion to make a million... Throwing money at a bad deal, is unfortunately possible, but most of it is more pyramid scam than a healthy company selling lollipops and making everyone involved money.

Not really a cricket fan but I watched a game of the 100. Not a fan of the franchise system or franchise leagues in sports in general, to me I see no reason to support my local team if its just a team randomly selected and drafted to be there. But if it helps support the sport that'd be good.

I'd be interested to see how the money is distributed. I'm sad that well established womens team like Durham and Billericay seems to be being left behind and the WSL is just the top 12 richest clubs in the PL (except palace instead of newcastle atm). How much is being trickled down and can the league be expanded to enable smaller clubs to have growth comparable to clubs like Ipswich and newcastle which go pro in step 3 and then demolish the competition.

Wrexham football ball club was on its knees and on its last legs. Ryan and Rob came along and saved the club they put time and money in the club. Most of all the Town (City) has a great buzz and the fans are full of hope. I remember watching Wrexham v Blackpool a good few years back Blackpool managed to get into the Premier .! Back to back promotions are fantastic and a lot of people with the old green eyed monster and now a kitchen table accountant giving his pennies worth.😂
