The rivalry died when the great players on the Yanks and Sox from the early late 90s/2000s either retired or went to other teams. The rivalry fed off of the teams fighting each other (in the standings and with actual fists) and having close games that had you on the edge of your seat.

It hasn’t been a rivalry since 2009 It’s just an attraction now 2009 was the last year where both teams were World Series threats and had some or most of the core of the rivalry years. 2013-2016 Yankees were dead Red Sox went on to win, also further cementing their legacy as a franchise. 2018 wasn’t a rivalry. It was an attraction, that is all.

I don't hate players. You should never hate players because they're on another team. I still like to watch the games. Fenway is always nice because it is living history. What I see, the Red Sox have lost a lot of their aggression. They're a normal team like everybody else. The fire is missing.

Who the hell cares about whether or not the Red Sox have players we can hate? I don't give a damn about that it's the fucking uniform. If you're a true Yankee fan you want to beat them because they're the Red Sox and fuck that they're not that good like 2003-2004. Kay should know and understand this because he's old enough but he's just like these young people who think because the Red Sox aren't good it's just a ho hum game. If they're not battling the Yankees for 1st place or in the playoffs it's meaningless and that's just plain wrong. It means something regardless of the Standings or who's playing for them because it's about that uniform. Fans who understand this know the real deal.
