The pre33 gold is amazing. I picked up a 10D Liberty Eagle this week. Congrats on your Indian Head!

I know of a coin that’s 50% as good 100% of the time! That’s the $2.50 pre-33 Indian Head 😁 We got a couple in as BuyBacks recently so I picked one up. Absolutely stunning! We hardly ever see these come through Down Under so I had to grab one when I could. Love it! 🤩

The incuse Indians are spectacular. I have a really nice one in mint state 64 and it’s a blast. You would have to dig, but it is in my coins folder on KZbin.

The Indian in the 10$ coin is different from the one in the 2,5$ and 5$ coins, being the former more "White" and the latter more "Native American Indian". Another remarkable difference is that the 10$ coin is in traditional relief instead of the inner one on the 2,5$ and 5$ as you correctly pointed out. The eagle in the reverse is identical on the three coins. Anyway, all three coins are great, and I recommend you having the complete Indian set (2,5$, 5$ and 10$). About other pre-33 ten (and also twenty) dollars coins, there is not only the Saint-Gaudens (which front design is same as of the American Eagle Gold coin) but also the Liberty, all of them pretty beautiful.

A victoria shield back in good condition would be first choice for me.

I got one of those from HGM so the premium was not too bad. Its an amazing looking coin but can't have many though as they are not cgt exempt. It's definitely one for the collection and not the stack though .

Yes. I am very fond of that design. Actually there's a mint here in the states, that currently has that same design in SILVER. 1 ozt, 2 ozt, 5 ozt. on sale. StackOn.

Then you will really love the 10$ indian head (its really the peace dollar design if ya wanna compare) i got 2 of them but they are spendy but just amazing to look at

20%! Still though, you've scratched a long held itch, don't look a gift horse in the mouth I say and yes, the incusing is interesting, makes it stand out (ironically) and the design is pretty classic.
@SovereignSaurus4 ай бұрын
Haha ironic indeed. Yeah I did wince a bit at the premium but for the size of the bullion stack that's been bought at very low premiums mostly on much lower gold prices it's not something I'll worry about for an odd coin but won't be buying more 🤣

@@SovereignSaurus You could get an example of all the pre-33 US coins over time, as they come up. As an objective to spice things up a little. Although if you go down that road, next thing you know, you'll be justifying NGC graded coins and speculating on that market.

Lovely stuff....I'm still debating about buying an Indian Head and Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle, but not sure if it would be a good use of my Gold Budget, (which is getting tighter by the day) as I'm a stacker rather than a collector. Or should I just concentrate on filling in the date run gaps in my Sovereign portfolio? Decisions Decisions!!!

It's a classic coin, beautiful design. Just be wary of the ton of fakes floating around. I had mine authenticated by NGC.

The $5 gold liberty's have MUCH better premiums and the same amount of gold (i just bought 8 of them!), but the Indians are very unique and fun...i had to have one, got a 1912.

One wonders why they don't incuse any modern series. Apparently it was done because the coins wore down less.

Yes surprised there isn't something as a tribute or 'modern collectible' at least
