SO much wisdom in this. I feel like Christians so often idolise the concept of God sending us the right person - which definitley does happen for some people, but not everyone. Commitment matters & you spoke about that so well. Thank you for this!!!

God tested me last year with my breakup and it was the greatest blessing for me now that I looked at it in a different perspective. I have been single for a year and I’ve found myself which was/is amazing. I’m so thankful because I’ve learned how to surrender to God due to my trials and tribulations. I’m at the point in my life where I told God, please continue to test me so I can be hungry for you. Being 25 and living for God, IT-IS-AMAZING. Now that I’m going to pursue my MS in Medical Sciences prior to Med or PA school. God is my pilot and I’m just the passenger. Sometimes, I do want to be with someone but, I will wait on God. I promised to be with someone who shares the same faith as me. #MakeroomforJesus

I think we do have God ordained matches that are his best pic for us. But I think if there’s any reason we miss out on “the one” he has for us in a time and place he isn’t going to punish us and never let us get married, but he gives us free will and wants us to follow his best for us.

I think some clarification should be offered in the point about butterflies because not everyone’s definition or even understanding of that is the same. Butterflies doesn’t always equate to nerves but it can be excitement or like you said a chemical reaction but not one that is the opposite of peace. My parents have been married for 16 years and every once in a while will express that they still feel butterflies when looking at each other. I don’t believe in nerves but I always don’t believe the love should go away.
@ToriAndChad4 жыл бұрын
Makes total sense! We didn't mean it in an offensive way at all! But rather speaking to younger couples who are ONLY following the feelings and "nerves" that is often just a chemical reaction...which is not love. So in that thought, we don't believe the love goes away! I still get super excited to be with my wife and be around her etc... but its not a nervousness! But i totally get what you are saying and honestly your parents are goals... good for them for being so awesome and being a great example for you!

I recently started watching your videos and you guys give the best advice and every single one of your videos are so uplifting. This year I went through an awful breakup I definitely thought he was “the one”. He was a Christian guy and we went to church and worshiped together all the time but we realized we put our relationship together above our relationship with God. Do you believe in “right person wrong time”? This is something I’ve struggled with through this break up. I thought we had something solid and everyone said we were perfect together. My mentor has said that he was a stepping stone on my way to finding/choosing my husband. Anyways I just wanted to say thank you for all of your videos, they have helped me so so much. You’re such an inspiring couple. Please keep doing what you’re doing. 💗🙏🏼

@ToriAndChad4 жыл бұрын
That's a great question and I hope this reply is okay... We totally disagree and agree with this statement... hahah in short, there is this weird eery feeling when you are with "your person" and I think it has a lot to do with being on the same page... For example not having one person care more than the other etc... when you are both devoted to eachother it just feels right and that's where the phrase comes from... However, feelings play games with your mind and should be tested through scripture!

Haha You’re so funny. Unfortunately, I’ve never won a Crown, but I can be a Crown lol. and then doing next steps like you said. Anyway, I think both of them had to go through a lot of hardships themselves before getting together, that’s why Tori friendzoned Chad twice. And I also get from her that she’s releasing her expectations ( that’s really hard) because God has filled her cup already, so I think a part of “he is someone who can make me laugh” is that our cup needs to be full first. Love.
@priyankaupadhye4 жыл бұрын
vy tuong : Ofcourse they’ve been through hardships... On a practical note, we all have too.. That’s life, isn’t it ? But what is amazingly beautiful about them is the fact that they take life with all it has to offer and live it with dignity... They remind me of sunshine : Full of love, hope and light.... And the fact about the guy being funny, I wasn’t telling my expectations... we’ve all seen Chad being witty & funny and making Tori blush & smile all the time... so the entire statement was in context to their relationship that I absolutely adore... REALLY AWESOME VIDEO GUYS!!! My church did a series on this as well and it is so true what yall said. But what if you serve that person and love on them as well as work on your character, but the person does not serve you (obviously in a Christ like way) or grow themselves?
@ToriAndChad4 жыл бұрын
Well I guess a lot of that depends on if you are married to them, but our views on how to serve one another is strongly contingent on if you are married to this person in a God ordained covenant, if so! Then we hope that that person has a relationship with God and is close enough with Him to realize that maybe they are not treating you the way God would want you too.. We also hope they would be involved in a strong community and church that could help point them in the right direction.. With all that said, people do have hard times and fall off the wagon sometimes etc... and we believe in the mean time we try to love them unconditionally just like Jesus does us daily!
