A little tip for the paddle holes. Time your machine and figure out when the last "kneading" is done before the rising and baking, then the next loaf, set your timer for that full time (mine is 1 hour & 35 minutes), and you can take out the paddles before the bread rises and bakes. It'll still have little tiny holes from the place where you put the paddles, but it won't have the massive paddle spot that always ruins the cut.

@@Dashitishere22 I refuse to use a bread machine just for that reason. Bit of a waste. In terms of reheating croissants, would it work to toast them in a regular oven? You could get the moisture in the oven by doing one of at least three things: preheat a small pan in the oven and when you put the croissant in add a cup of warm water in the preheated pan, or just toss a few ice cubes into the oven right before you put the croissant in, or maybe spray some water into the oven using a water bottle. Do you think any of those would work?
@nodezsh
@nodezsh Жыл бұрын
They would work but there's lots of variables to cross off there. Probably even the changing weather would be able to mess you up with such amounts of water and an unsealed oven. This thing you put a cuplet of water and set the timer and setting to what the book says, comes out perfect. Toasting seems to be trickier than baking somehow.

How do you replicate this at home with a regular or toaster oven? You do it with a spray bottle of water. You lightly spray the bread, toast or croissant, then place it in the toaster oven. Along the way, open the oven and respray the bread with water mist during the cooking once or twice to keep the moisture going. It should steam nearly as effective as this steam toaster without the $300 price tag.

I would love to see a hack video. Maybe mist a slice of bread before going in a toaster oven, put a small glass of water in the toaster oven, etc. Very few people are going to spend $300 to rejuvenate a stale peice of bread, it would be cool if it can be done without a he machine.

Looks like it could do with getting flipped over but I would think it would then release the steam

So question: Could you get the same outcome by adding a pan with water in it to your toaster oven while toasting bread? We add a little container of water to the microwave too when we are reheating anything with bread. It keeps it from getting tough.

A long known hack is to put a spoonful of water in a ramekin and put that in a regular toaster oven to do the same thing without the high cost of that machine. You can add a few drops of vinegar to the water to help refresh some bakery items as well.

That’s what I don’t like about those type of toasters, they only toast one side.

I bought a zojirushi like this, it has a grate so it toasts both sides but honestly I use it for cooking eggs, etc too.

It’s only under toasted because of the steam. I use it without steam all the time now. Both sides gets evenly toasted. Your bread will probably never dry out enough to really the steam anyway. Just turn the knob to the toast icon and just start out at 1.5 and work your way up to your desired browning. I find 3 is too much (without water steaming).
