yea guys i believe its not a race block its a QT prefix which is a normal block for a late HZ HDT would have used the L34 block with the stronger webbing etc prefix HT or HZ we have Cooks ex group c L34 and it does not even have numbers we also have gricey's old car and it has AGR prefix

A quick search show this engine could have come from any HQ to HZ 308 powered vehicle. Prefix for LH SLR5000 L34 is HZ, Prefix for LH/LX SLR5000, LX SS L31 including A9X except LH SLR5000 L34 is HT. This does not prove or disprove the claim that the engine is a Brock engine. Personal opinion, I am fairly sure that any engine that was used or prepared for use by the Holden Dealer Team would have been well documented. Regards Alex Wallace

A re stamped block with a QT prefix which is to suit a hq-hz where as an L34 block should be HZ prefix. The original car was sold to Garry Cooke who raced it as an A9X in 78 and 79 and then it was returned to a road car status and later stolen at Lithgow. I have photos of the car after it was returned to a road car and it was mistakenly shown as being the 75 winner which it wasn’t. He makes reference to harry firth but harry as running the HDT not the Patterson team Brock was running in so he’s clearly full of it
