The CF Moto 800MT Touring is currently on offer at £9,999 with a few units left... It's got a powerful 790 derived twin and all the tech you could need but the question we need to ask is should you invest at this price point, is the after sales support going to be there and how does it stack up compared to it's KTM sisters...

It's fully specced bike for the money and worth considering if you plan to keep it a long time. There are no CFmoto dealers near me so that is one factor that would rule it out for me the other factor would be depreciation.

Don’t worry about depreciation at that price

Hi Nigel thanks for the comment, nice to see you. It's a superb price, still missing the Meteor tho so I'm after something a little more retro myself... Classic 650 I'm eager to see too!

Just bought a pristine, used ‘19 BMW F750GS with 6,900 miles and most of the same accessories/upgrades for $8700. Hard pressed to trust the support and reliability on the CF Moto, but time will tell. Love gold rims tho!

People were highly suspicious of Porsche they they first started selling in the usa. They have lots of dealerships but hardly any service places was the concern. Porsches famous response was.. We dont need many, our cars hardly ever have issues !!

I suspect that the Chinese brands will knock the established brands into a cocked hat in due course as the Japanese did in their turn.

The comparison isn't as valid as it appears, Britain's bikes were not made to the same standard of manufacturing as the Japanese. Your 1970 BSA build quality depended on the person working that day and even what day it was. There was a huge uplift in technology, performance etc. Today generally, and money no object Japanese bikes as good if not better than Chinese bikes, CFmoto and Moto Moroni both use ER6 derived engines. So it's better to say Japanese bikes are being undercut by Chinese brands. Will the buying public prioritise price in a market which is mainly pleasure riding...?

@@MindfulMotorcyclist I envisage the same process of cheap and cheerful followed by increasing quality and innovation that we saw with Japanese bikes. Let’s not forget that BMW and Kawasaki have their products built by the same companies as make the Voge. There’s some truth in what you say but I am old enough to remember similar arguments from the legacy makers of my youth. Definitely not a time for complacency or hubris. Big bloated over engineered bikes may not be the best sector to get focused on.

Thanks A2Z, really appreciate the comment. If you are anywhere near Midwest Moto in the Midlands they have both of these on test so you could in theory ride these back to back... I like both. The Moroni is lighter and is also on offer at £500 off, but the 800MT has cruise and luggage which makes a huge difference IMO...

Phenomenal value for money bike, especially with the 2022 model discount. Are Mid West Moto going to keep selling CF Moto bikes or is this a fire sale, if they are not a KTM stockist? Another great video by the way
@MindfulMotorcyclist
@MindfulMotorcyclist Жыл бұрын
Thanks MB really appreciate that. Yes the brand is going to stay going into 2023-4 and beyond. I believe the 2022 bikes are just heavily discounted at £9,999. The 2023 model is identical except for a new map to smooth out the fueling which was something raised about the original bike. 2023 bikes will be priced at £11,499 without luggage (too much IMO). What they've done is had KTM apply the updated map onto the 2022 bikes to bring them into line. I appreciate all the tech is nice to have but It's the panniers that sell it for me... Thanks.

Hi Bob, very good question. At the time these were £11k with Midwest Moto offering it for £9999. Now after the partnership with KTM, CF bikes are being positioned lower and this one is £9299 or thereabouts with full luggage, quickshifter and all the toys I listed. So price aside (I paid £5499 for my Goldie) the other reasons are this bike is too big for me, I value the hop on factor. I had just come from a Voge 500 which is a Chinese adventure bike (not as nice as this granted) so I wanted to get back to a bike I had a passion for which is the modern classic sector. Finally, and to be very honest the retro type machine gets a lot more interest on here, there are more owners and a bigger sense of community. That bike is a better bike than mine in so many ways, but my bike is better for me if that makes sense. Apologies for the long answer!

Sean, thanks for the reply and I fully understand what you are saying. I as you know currently have a Classic and a Meteor and love them both for what they do. I'm relocating to Portugal in the near future and determined to import the Meteor next year but now looking for something to take me all over the med region with comfort and style. I was originally just looking at the SM with a half chance that the Classic 650 might arrive early mid 2024 🤔 😂. The CF Moto has now been placed on the list as a serious contender, I'm just a little concerned about the seat height as my inseam is only 79.5cm and I struggle to get good footing on the Classic with the stock seat on 😮. I'm just going to have to try and be patient until next May when hopefully I will get to test ride the CFMOTO 800. I would appreciate your thoughts.Bob.

@@BobfmBali Hi Bob, we are also planning a relocation to Spain/Portugal. There is another commentator on here Nigel who has been exceptionally helpful furnishing me with advice... he's just got his Spanish passport actually. I've received my Irish one and hoping Suzie to come on the EU family member re-unification scheme. I also plan on taking a bike, the Goldie perhaps with a MotoLug trailer perhaps riding as the med region and actually wider Europe is very appealing. I am 180cm with a relatively short leg (I wear short jeans) and the 800MT felt big to me, I almost get my feet flat but not easily. I came away thinking it was too big and heavy. The Seat height is 825mm on the 800MT. If you can live with half the power the new CFmoto 450MT has a lower seat option of 800mm will be much lighter 231kg vs 188kg (estimated) and will probably include some freebies for the first people to order...
