I used to lived in BGC before it was BGC then I moved to New York City in 2007 and left the place in 2018 to Texas. I must say BGC is way better than New York City for some reasons. first there’s so many people in New York City and many people there feels like they are way better than other people And there’s always Clash of different cultures over there. The noise in New York City is so loud. You don’t have any peace of mind because of the noise and the fast pace of life. On the other hand, BGC, is chill, clean, affordable and peaceful.

Guys, I suggest that you buy umbrellas that you could place in your bags, in case you get caught in the rain. The Ber months September 1, starts the Christmas season in the 😂Philippines and usually ends by the feast of the three kings in January. Having stayed in New York City in the past, I would consider BGC much better, cleaner, safer, no homeless people. BGC is somewhat similar to the city of Calgary, in the province of Alberta, in Canada.

you should go during the weekends at night in BGC at 5th street where the 3D billboards are. The roads are always closed during the weekends and they put some pop-up markets there.

Please celebrate Christmas and New year in Manila. Philippine Christmas experience is just unique. My former boss was a Japanese- American. Whole family born and bred in the US. He happened to go to the Philippines during Christmas holidays and he said Christmas is big in the Philippines. It’s part of our Christian religion, our culture and tradition. Church bells ringing, morning mass, Christmas carols, Christmas cards and. exchange gifts. Christmas parties at schools and offices. Traditional star lanterns and many more.

Malls are the ones playing christmas songs starting september - best way to persuade people to spend and increase consumption to increase economic flow. Radio stations starts playing christmas songs sporadically. Once November hits then it became common in every corner especially in commercial establishments.

The real name of BGC during the American occupation is William Mckinney the 45th president of the United States. The adjacent city to bgc is Makati, just 5 minutes away. Beautiful place too. While in BGC, GO VISIT THE MANILA AMERICAN CEMETERY. SO BEAUTIFUL!

You cant compare NYC to BGC. First off, the former is bigger in size, while the latter is like a one small neighborhood in Manhattan. In terms of cleanliness and how organize the place is, BGC clears. But NYC wins in every aspect--it is the unofficial capital of the world for a reason. BGC is more comparable to Singapore and Sydney, but more compact.

I'm currently living in NYC, my advice to other tourists, don't come here right now. Crime and homeless people have taken over the once great city. BGC is a better choice at this time. Less crime and less expensive to live.

I'm Filipino American, born and raised in Queens, NY and have lived and worked in BGC. I can assure you that BGC has nothing to do with NYC and can't be compared to NYC. Just Singapore is bigger and better than BGC. BGC is great for the Philippines and is home to many global back office operations. It is a model for what the future of the Philippines can look like, but let's not compare a tiny neighborhood in Manila to one of the 4 alpha cities on earth. Makes no sense to compare just based on scale and GDP of the US vs Philippines. It's not remotely similar enough to compare. Compare London or Tokyo to NYC, not a tiny neighborhood.

You may explore Poblacion in Makati at night for more adventurous nightlife too. Wear Crocs slippers is advisable for you not to slip at all during the rainy seasons in the Philippines. High Street is the common area in BGC streets. The Fort is where clubs are located.

I don't think BGC and New York should be compared. New York has its own feel, the same way BGC has its own. Any KZbinr who brings this question up is just obviously sucking up to the Filipinos. We do appreciate foreign vloggers coming to the Philippines but please don't insult our intelligence by saying BGC is "better" than New York. Not all Filipinos are ignorant, you know. And not all Filipinos are so gullible enough to believe that kind of BS.

New York is New York although now a days, there are lots of mix things happening...The issue with the immigrants and crime growing. BGC is a small township/mini city within Metro Manila and most foreigners compare it to other cities like Singapore, New York , LA or any cosmopolitan city...I can only say BGC is so much safer than N.Y. City, San Fran. and Chicago....
