I think it is a choice. Either cut the parts I did, or remove the X. Can't do both.

there is a guy on the facebook dc10 group who sold me a 3d printed lowkey bulkhead that got rid of that rear bulkhead and shaved that weight

Whats the advantage of reducing weight

This translates from every form of racing. Lighter means faster acceleration, easier cornering, reduced stopping time. Less weight = higher performance.
