The "gun in the air" thing probably comes from the film A Knights Tale. There's a scene where a knight refuses to joust his opponent once he finds out (spoiler!) that his opponent is the Prince of Wales - he rides past the Prince with his lance in the air, acknowledging him but not fighting him. The blocking thing is just gaming the system, but I do think "Blocking with Yuri" sounds like a great gameshow.

Claus, I remember being killed at the start of the game on the test server every game by Russian players. After 10-15 games I gave up trying to play on the test server, jeez, it was brutal back in the day on the test server. 30 seconds

Two times, I was team killing on the old test server. They play very aggressively and like to pack up. If I had to guess, half were drunk and / or drinking.

Hi Klaus, I hope you are doing well. I wanted to tell you about my experience with world of tanks today via Twitch streaming. I posted couple of comments on live stream on wot channel, I was immediately banned from wot channel. I did actually report the matter to Twitch Admin because we don't live in a communist countries and we've got the right to post honest opinion about wot and its recent updates. Game has changed a lot over the years. War Gaming doesn't accept any criticism of the game or its mechanics. They don't care about players feedbacks. They just simply ban one player after the other. I am hoping Twitch Admin will issue them a warning soon. I am asking players around the world not to pay any more cash or feed them more cash until they resolve players concerns and feedbacks. I am not surprised War Gaming lost tens of thousands of players on each server. I do remember back in 2013-2015 there were around 45k to 47k active players. Have a good day. Together we stand against cancel cultures.

Angled this way, the IS7 has around 260 effective armor on his upper plate (where the 705A was shooting). The IS4 upper plate has over 270mm of armor (more if it was a bit angled). So, he made the right choice. Also, the 705A was trying to block the shot from the IS4 using his gun AND both the IS7 and IS4 were spamming gold (you don't if you rig the game for a damage blocking mission). Just bad RNG for the 705A.

NA server is a completely different beast Friday night thru Sunday as it is Monday-Thursday. Weekends = many good player/mix avg player/many tards Weekday = few good/many avg players/min tards. Just an old mans opinion. Rock on Tankers 🤘😎

So I play on both EU and NA. I found on NA, if your a newer player, you will get berated and trolled, until you uninstall. On the EU server, you will be helped and sent messages on things you can do to make your gaming a bit better.... So on EU They are very helpful. On NA they are very cruel.

Reading the comments, some think it is legit, but I think that the IS4 was there blocking the line of fire of the TDs that are usually placed on the back, on the train tracks.

It took me forever to complete blocking missions with VK100 on NA. Very rarely anyone shoots you more than 2 times if they can’t pen. They switch to HE or just stare at you. This game is weird but legit.

1. The IS-7 probably was the better target to shoot at, just got unlucky with the bounces 2. The IS-7 always moved back and fourth and wiggle, why would he do that if they were doing block farming? 3. The IS-7 and the IS-4 both were spamming GOLD, the IS-4 even alternating ammunition and even shooting HE. That doesn't line up with "active game rigging" for block farming I actually believe this was legit, although it did indeed look strange for a while. Also in the end they rushed over to kill the 705 which they did. So overall i would say odd but legit.

I let a T29 using the 76mm shoot me repeatedly so I could pass a blocked damage mission. He kept bouncing his shots so I let him live until I had enough blocked damage then killed him.

I think it could be legit, Claus. I have sat in my Russian heavies and wasted shot after shot while holding a line. The 705 was the only tank holding against the heavies for a long time. Thanks for this, Claus. Fun start to my day.

There is a possibility that the Obj 705A bouncing off the IS-7 was legit, because a lucky pen in the spot he kept shooting has a high chance of ammo rack-ing the IS-7. Search for IS-7 Ammo Rack videos and will see. I fell for this too, constantly shooting IS-7's in that chain loop...bounced every single one.

I tried playing the RU servers back in the day when there were 11 servers, some of the most agressive games I've ever played in! I was exhausted at the end of each game! Now - In the dim a distant past wasn't there an outcry from the RU Community when a banned mod was removed, and the RU Community demanded it back and wargaming said ok? It is wargaming's major source of income if I remember correctly.

when I played the Russian server, I did not experience team killing me. I had Cdn flags on all my tanks and that seemed to help, I assume. I had such lag, as to be almost unplayable, though.

he has more chances to pen the IS7 at that angle than the IS4. It's just a good players who know which targets are better, but he just got bad RNG. Enemies like these happen, I once blocked 13-15k in a T30 at the same position on the left before map got reworked.

I can't even play the game anymore. I had to reinstall the game (because last update was extremelly slow to download for whatever reason and I decided that maybe would be faster to just delete the game and do a clean install) and now the downloads are so awfully slow (like 3 KB/s or less) that I can't even install it to play. If I install it via Steam it takes only a few minutes (but I seem to not be able to use my account) but if I install it from the Game Center it seems that will take my entire life to download and install the game. I'm getting fed up of all this Wargaming b.s.

Claus. Many players here are claiming it's not so easy to pen the IS4 playing the featured tank. Can you do a training room and set up this scenario with the relevant tanks in the same positions and take some test shots!? PLEASE! (and then post that video as a follow up to this one)

It is NOT an easy pen with the 705A's main gun. The AP pen is crap, the HEAT pen isnt great. IS-4 has like 290mm frontal turret armor that's also sloped, very tiny cupolas that the player had hidden by wedging himself up slightly. Frontal hull armor is also 140 or 150mm thick, and even the lower plate has a couple of sections where some spare track pieces are modeled as spaced armor. The IS-7, side scraping as he was, was the better choice to shoot with the 705A's inaccurate, shitty gun.

Thanks Claus - it looked ok to me. Maybe he thought the IS4 has really strong armour and it would be harder to pen. The pen indicator showed yellow on the IS7, so he should have got some pens, but I guess the indicator isn't totally reliable.

The typical Russian pike is the easiest frontal penetration once it is angled in sidescrape, unless they show lower plate as a muppet ofc., I was genuinely confused how so many shots didn't pen, esp. with the HEAT - you see high calibers with 300+ mm pen hitting them right there and often ammo racking all the time. At that angle it could have had like 280 effective armor and he was shooting 317? pen HEATs.

Today I watched the ruski forum where wifes of the russians complain that their husbands go to Ukraine thinking it's a world of tanks game. (They specifically talk about wot, cause it's very popular there as a recruitment tool for tools). After some sobering shells and attacks they realize their only escape is in vodka, so they end up drunk and killed in such ways that their commanders have to take their weapons or ammo until they're sober - which is NEVER! So those that get wounded but can't escape on their own end up rotting on some field, cause no one wants to risk their necks for gettting their corpses out. Ruski army quickly dealt with that minor inconvinience by proclaiming their corpses not dead, but MIA... And then that wifey furies storm military offices in russia cause after their dear "tankists" are considered MIA for period of 6 months - they stop getting their pay checks... So you tell me... is that game behaviour legit? 🤣🤣

To me, anytime you have players who are trying to do something other than win the game, to some extent that ruins the game for everyone else. Now the missions do add to this. But there is nothing more frustrating than having a really close game, then watching as a team member purposefully play poorly to complete a mission. I don't think it was legit. The other thing the IS4 was doing was being parked between the TD's in the back and the 705 essentially protecting him from TD's with the really high pen stats. To me the whole thing looked like guys on opposing teams working together.

At every tier the EU server is full of Bot. You just have to watch after your dead and see tanks sitting in base or tanks in bushes turret rotating like it has epilepsy and general un-human like behaviour and positioning !

All I know is if the first game was in multiplayer...I'd have been blown to hell in the first 3 minutes. For one I doubt I'd have been able to stay there so long without being flanked. But, If as Tony below says there is a mission for which you have to block shots then maybe this explains it. Except Tony says you only need block an average 8 shots...Average? How many did these block again? There's a challenge for blocking shots isn't there? But I do that one easily enough in the game...plus I seem to block shots quite a lot...so long as they don't pen me I don't care.

They are just that bad or the RNG said no Claus. The 705 was aiming at the only thing he could possibly pen on the IS7, and there isn't much he can pen on a hull down IS4 angled up. If they were rigging for bouncing then they wouldn't be using premium ammo either

I will learn everything about it now, I thought. The guy drove it in the middle of the map got shot from every direction, shot maybe once bounced about 5 shots and exploded. I learned nothing but most important was his commentary. It went like this: "Look how tough this thing is how many HP it has oh they can't even pen me BOOM yeah that's one tough tank! Worth every penny" Yeah I was shocked but that is how some play...Some just race around till they die...Its just how ppl play. But that was a good game for BOB to comment on!

Its hard to say. Now why would they shoot gold rounds if they help him blocking? Also this guy could just be bad and think he cant pen is-4 but rather aim for is-7 on flat spot. I would also have shot is-7 the same way but prop stoped after a couple of rounds not penning.

I think is a OK game, that 705 should pen that IS7 where he was shoting, the problem was 705A had a lower position at IS7 doing harder pen that point, He dont shot IS-4 because even with HEAT, 705A cant pen him at front, again not with THAT low angle, if the 705A had a bit of hight ground over IS-7 and IS-4 then he could pen them where is was shoting. Just RNG thing making none of those shot pen that IS-7. When i need do a block damage mission i use 705, Easily 4k average block damage by battle. I`ve hold that way with the 705A against 2 or 3 heavies a lot, until they notice im alone and decide push me, then im dead, but blocked 8-12k :)

With a JgE100 probably yeah, but even with HEAT that 705 cant pen that IS-4 in that position. he was hiding the only weak point and trying shot the hatch is a was of shells.

I doubt it, because the shot mechanic in WoT has an intrinsic RNG component to it. Even if they aim at your weakspot from far away, they are not guaranteed to hit it.

and how many time they shot at you and miss? For every shot someone hits you, maybe 5 missed. Even a FV4005 can hit an EBR at 500m going 80km/h. Doesn't mean it will hit it every time =)

I played this game back in the early years from 2011-14 on a very crappy pc but still managed to find it a little fun but it seems to have really gone down hill, become quite p2w and wg allowing cheating.
