Tori Holub has a truly wonderful voice. She did an amazing job with her rendition of Karen Carpenter's song like no other has been able to achieve. However, God had blessed Karen Carpenter with the most unique and magical voice. The wealth of range, tone, control, and quality was only the beginning of her gift. What made Karen Carpenter so exceptional was the deep, deep emotions she communicated with, which we later learned was based on so much pain. My brother who is 71 years old, was a Karen Carpenter fan from the get go! That said, Tori has a beautiful voice and the music is lovely. Thank you for this.

What a great voice. I like how the video is laid out so we can see who and how many parts each person is singing / playing. Her voice is just beutiful and she can hold a note near the line with the feeling and movement the voice has. Fantastic video 2x👍

Tori even has Karen's adorable wisp-of-a-lisp as she projects certain letters. So many have waited so long for this beautiful moment. Tears of gratitude.

the production is great! and the musicians are to be commended for keeping so close to the original song. I was a fan of the Carpenters in the 70s. My heart goes out with this cover. Thank you all.

Hi Fil, This was such an enjoyable analysis. Tori did Karen proud on this cover. She has a very beautiful voice and it’s just perfect for this song! You can see and feel Tori really has a connection to the song and her singing. Great one to look at today! Thanks Fil, love Ya’…. Debbie☮️

This is one of the best reaction/reviews I have ever seen on KZbin! I learned so much via your software and explanation. I have been following Tori on TT for a couple of years now and I ALWAYS enjoy everything she posts, and she seems like the nicest person. I have commented on many of her videos and she is always gracious and genuine. I am so excited to see where her career takes her as well!

Fil, seeing you smiling while watching the vocals go through the pitch monitoring software is such a treat lol. Even if I couldn't see it on the screen myself, I would've known it was good just by the smile you had. What a great cover of a total legend!!!

Great cover, the backing vocal was so good, i thought Tori was singing with the original Carpenters backing track, i am even more impressed, thank you for this!

Stunning. She's effortlessly accurate, & even gets tiny details the same. It sounds like they've studied the production techniques the Carpenters used. A lovely breath of fresh air in a stale, auto-tuned world. tavi.

Her brother, Richard, would have been impressed, I think. I wonder if he’d be knocked over backwards by her wide-open vibrato that sets itself so comfortably and rolls so beautifully within that rumbling, rich KC (now Tori) timbre. …like caramel pouring onto a melting, soft-serve ice cream sundae.

OMG! I'm breathless. I started singing at three years old to...Karen Carpenter. I was so sad when she left us. Her voice is..I can't even! It's beautiful, warm. It wraps you up and takes you "there". Thank you so much for introducing me to her. I'd not heard of her. It's clouds and velvet. It's that first kiss and first crush. I'm in my 50's now, but my first marriage (at 17) was the song I walked down the aisle to. She's a dream. I love the reality of her voice. I don't want perfection. It doesn't sit right in my ear. Robotic, stiff, predictable. I just don't feel that sort of thing. Anyway-thanks! I love her! PS: don't think I didn't catch that smile and your face absolutely light up. I think many of us did the same!

I learned of Tori Holub just a few weeks ago and was stunned. I never got to see The Carpenters live but hope I will get to hear Tori live. She has made my top 5 artists I have discovered on KZbin since the pandemic began. The others are Angelina Jordan, The Warning, Eva Cassidy and Alma Deutscher.

That is what has always amazed me about Karen Carpenter: Her exquisite perfection that always seemed organic and natural and unforced. When I recall that she thought of herself as a drummer first, I am astounded. (I heard Carpenters live once, and, yes, Karen drummed during part of the concert.)
@andyschnell588 ай бұрын
Thanks @@DanielByers-qf9qi for your reply and I am jealous you got to see The Carpenters live. Karen was a great drummer. Now I have Paulina, the drummer for The Warning to enjoy her great rock vocals while drumming.
