@@timdrake7277 It hasn't slowed down at a noticeable degree yet - after 5 months of use. The 4K-Version might be a little too hard to drive for the 1050ti MaxQ at its native resolution, but it still looks great at 1440p and gets to an reasonable FPS for casual gamers.

Clair Studios fast charging does not matter to me, my 4 year old MacBook Pro still hits 7 hr battery life, and when it’s out of battery I just use it plugged in. As long as the battery can last >4hrs I don’t see fast charging as valuable.

One thing worth mentioning Lew is that Lenovo Thinkpads have their fans kick on at random times for cooling. It's just a preemptive setting to make sure your laptop doesn't heat up too quick. It can be turned off though if you just want it to cool down when it's already hot, working hard, or if you just want a quieter experience

Hp zbook studio x360 with a 4k display 100% Adobe color with an i9 or xeon 8th gen comes with an active pen with 4000 pressure sensitivity. If you you modify it with a dell xt3 hinge probably will be the best current laptop for productivity since the two in ones are a little wonky compared to the table PCs hinges. And it's still upgradelable.

If productivity were their focus, the Ctrl key would be at the very bottom left instead of the fn key. Nobody with OCD is going to switch them in the BIOS. Thinkpads have a poor keyboard layout, and for some reason they are slower than laptops from other brands with the same specs, even if you do a fresh install of Windows on them. And no, I don't own any Apple products. I just work with a bunch of Thinkpads because they are the standard "business laptop". I believe this is only the case because Thinkpads have been around for so long and people in IT feel safe recommending them rather than risk spending money testing out different lines of laptops. Not only do I notice that they are slower than other laptops with the same specs, but the people who end up with the the Thinkpads often complain about how slow they are too. And these are new current gen Thinkpads (at least when those people got them). And no, this is not an isolated incident. I deal with many many Thinkpads and they all suffer from this inexplicable slowness compared to other laptops with the same specs. Diehard Thinkpad fans will obviously be upset and think I'm making it up, but the best way for you to understand is to experience other laptops as well. Your next purchase doesn't instantly have to be a Thinkpad - go to a store and do side by side comparisons with other brands.

Furthermore some customers want to see the simulations and internet is not always an option! Also I use software for mapping wifi inside buildings so I needed a lot of ports and horsepower for that.:)

Not too great with the ideapad lineup. I'm using the ideapad 520, and while it's a great machine, my biggest complaint is the fact that it has one 4GB ram stick SOLDERED on the motherboard, leaving just one slot of RAM that can be swapped out. Plus, if I need to utilize the internal m.2 SSD slot, I'll have to remove the DVD-RW drive completely in order to do so. Like. Who even thought that was a good idea...

However, i bought a 512gb nvme m.2 samsung 970 evo and it works fast as intended. in general or the price($799) i am more than happy with it. i miss a dedicated GPU tho...

Mine has an MX150-0 4GB and while it might not be a huge powerhouse, it sure can play most esports titles at max settings and older AAA titles at respectable framerates. My ideapad 520 cost about $670 though, so I can't help but wonder why your machine seems rather expensive. Mine was bought from an official Lenovo retailer so it's not like I got it cheaper from a third party (Which I could have) My Laptop's specs: i7-8550U GeForce MX150-0 4GB 8GB DDR4 @ 2400MHz (4GB + 4GB) 1TB HDD @5200 rpm 1080p 15.6" display The only downside is the slow af HDD (which I intend to swap out with a Samsung EVO when I manage the budget)

Install any Linux distribution on it, For example Pop OS , everything works out of the box. Pop OS rocks !

I bought the Samsung Dex station for my Note 8 recently; I love the idea of seeing cellphones moving towards being the one and only device people use for most of their computing tasks...which I know, depending on what your productivity looks like, may well rule out things like the Dex. I'd be curious to see a review of that kind of setup, if you haven't already. Cellphone hardware is really pretty capable these days, as I know has been pointed out on here. I'd love to see them given a chance to use it all.

My day to day laptop is a Lenovo T450s i7-5600. Nice machine. But then I run a Macbook Pro i7-4770 to run my FCPx for making KZbin videos. It's a hard choice to pick if i only had to choose one to take on a trip.

The problem with laptops is that everything has to be great in this one package. With a desktop PC, you can select every component and make it perfect for you. With laptops, there's always at least 1 thing that's not that good and you have to compromise. Also, even for a decently fast laptop, you'll pay over $1500 if it's thin.

As much as I might like the specs on this laptop, I will never buy one because the crtl key is moved to the right. This is highly frustrating as it is not standard. Having used a lenovo laptop with identical key layout for almost a year I find it almost impossible to use. I'll keep reminding myself where the crtl key is but regardless it slows down my work and remains a frustrating issue. Thanks to MSI, I have a more standard key layout on my laptop to work with.

True, but there is still a bit of an issue with the relative key size. Fn key is smaller, while Ctrl key is way larger. As the result, from time to time I have had issues hitting both Fn and Ctrl key when I only want to hit Fn (for Ctrl). It can be annoying since I use Ctrl+Key combo a lot. I just wish that there is a different keyboard layout that can be either configurable upon purchase or as part # that we can replace ourselves.
