Y’all need to lower the price for this in 2024. The only thing going for it now is the nice carbon finish. I was comparing this to a dozen other options at a store today and there are so many smaller/thinner compact with same or better spec options available now. Especially for a battery that can essentially only charge my 15 Pro Max only once.

Great Video on an interesting product. I think the only comparable item is the Ankerr 621. It's the same dimensions, does pass through and low current and is often on sale for $30. I love mine, but glad to see more options for super portable magsafe battery packs.

@@austinporter4285 Very true. Haven't been able to get my hands on the NW5000 yet, but would be very interested to see charge time differences. Also wonder if heat slows that down cause the 621 already gets pretty darn warm.

If this is attached by MagSafe to an iPhone but plugged into the same iPhone’s port with a USB cable does it default to USB charging? I don’t want to wirelessly charge the phone but I want it to connect using the magnets so it stays on and charge using a cable.

This is normal, that mine nitecore charged iPhone 15 pro max only from 1% to 55%? The Powerbank was a bit hot ~53*C

Quick question. When this is attached to a 15 pro , not the max. Will this be longer and hang lower than the bottom of the phone? Or is the pack more or less flush to the bottom of the non pro iphone?

Looking at the internals, it should be riding a little above the bottom of the phone, for any context, the phone demonstrated in the video was the iPhone 13 Pro, so this power bank should look even more compact on the 15 Pro!

Yes! it is compatible with the 14 Pro max, and yes it would charge it about back up to full!

Oh, though at least there's a launch discount! Also, while nitecore does provide good USB C cords, I have so many now. I don't mind not getting one. I don't need a new cord with everything I buy anymore. I have dozens of them that I don't use and I buy nice ones for most of my daily use now. I don't mind cutting down on cost/waste by not including them. Would love if the back was also magsafe so I could put my peak design tripod on the back and use it to charge my phone at night while it was standing up. It would be the reverse polarity as the front, so no risk of people putting it on backwards.

They are just going to be releasing new QI standard that will do higher charge and more efficient. You guys really didn’t time this well.

I... uh... Do you understand how tech development works??? Look, even if the new standard comes out tomorrow, you'd realistically be looking at least four months (maybe three, for experienced companies) before chargers and devices are available for purchase that feature the 'new' standard. Honestly, even four months is a bit on the hopeful aide, as far as devices go, ESPECIALLY Apple Devices. So, I don't think they have anything to worry about.

Qi2 in the near future is merely designed to work similarly as Magsafe so that products like androids are able to be efficiently charged with magnets as well and make it the standard. Even then, the initial products in the near future will primarily only charge up to 15 Watts with possibilities of higher charging rate but far in the future. The NW5000 supports up to 15 Watts and is Magsafe compatible, meaning that if you already own a product with Magsafe capabilities, Qi2 will not make any difference whatsoever until the far future when devices with Qi2 offer higher Watt outputs. Hope this helps explain!

Dude all my android phones have a Max wireless charge rate of 15 watts so qi 2 dosent really mean much and if you want your magnets to stick better them you should pick the charger tou want and replace the magnets if they suck.
