I have an idea where you buy another one that is been in a flood and the electronics are damaged beyond fixing so you clean up the housing and put the electronics from that one in the flood victim and voila you have a working unit

Nice PS5, interesting video Steve :-) You can remove the APU sponge as its held down with double sided adhesive strips that go around the outside of the encapsulant of the APU and stick to the plasic shield. This makes cleaning under it easier and the sponge itself. It can then be stuck back down by replacing the adhesive strips (stock ones are black) that hold it down and create a seal around the APU IC.

Hi I bought a camera off ebay that was described as faulty with the intention of me having a go at fixing it, stated fault was zoom lens jammed and a grinding noise. Turns out they were unable to charge it properly and because the battery had been left discharged too long, even when fully charged it was weak. The only issue it has is the tripod mount socket is pretty ruined. I wonder if yourself or any others have contacted the seller and told them or just have a big smug smile, luckily I hadn't bought the lens assembly in advance as it would cost £80.

31:00 if you even plan doing some repair stuff like this in the future i suggest to buy some super glue and an activator (which you can then gently spray over and it will make the glue go hard in instant... like a soda for ex, but that's not usable in here)... i does not work on all super glues, that's why i'm suggesting buyin them together (you'll most likely find smth usefull in shop for model kits) 45:45 you forgot the cr2032 (or w/e size that batt is)

Alway important to use surge protectors, fire alarms and have a fire extinguisher in the house as well turning off things that are not in use like radiators, electrics. It can save your life. Preventing a house fire should always be a high priority thing. Oh and keep your electric car, scooter etc if you have one parked out. Don't park that bomb in your house.

Curious as to the type of fire? The burn marks look very localized and indicative of an angry partner with a blow torch. No smoke damage and ribbon leads all intact despite abs plastic melting and warped.

Superglue (aka Cyanoacrylate) will not work until the air is removed. It won't work by adding superglue on top of something like regular glue.

Long time watcher. I think I know you from somewhere years ago. but could be wrong. But, you do a lot of cleaning and I think a sonic cleaner or similar would help you. what do you think? I used a freon one when I was at Honeywell which is not OK these days. But very effective.

Liquid metal mainly consists of gallium and tin (and maybe very tiny amounts of other metals), and both of these aren't magnetic. So you can't clean up LM with a magnet.
