How did I overlook this reaction? This band was recommended to me by a Swedish Ayreonaut after the concerts last September. It took me about a year to get to them, but I was instantly hooked. This is probably my favourite song. I think they are criminally underrated.

SOEN is just an amazing progressive metal band formed by ex-Opeth drummer Martin Lopez with his bandmates. Most of their songs have meaningful lyrics for the individual and/or the society as a whole, which is why one might also call them an activist band.

These guys are awesome. A great mix of tool, Pink Floyd and Opeth styles, all to make one Soen sound. I’m here for all of this. Checkout “Lascivious”. The reason it sounds like Opeth is Martin Lopez (drummer) left Opeth and started this band. Enjoy the music

Just such an awesome band. A rabbit hole must for anyone who likes good music. Great musicians but more importantly they are great people. Everything about them resonates hugely with me as many others. Cody’s guitar tone is just bliss. Joel’s voice, Lars Zlaty and El patron- the whole package. 💙🤘

I love Soen. ❤ They were actually formed by Opeth's former drummer, Martin Lopez. They definitely belong on your rabbit hole list.

Their newer albums have more heavy tracks, and grit. Joel Ekelof (vocalist) doesn't growl, but it's not really necessary.
