Roy Orbison had one of the most smooth powerful voices. He could sing real high falsetto & also low. Elvis Presley loved Roy's voice. Roy was known for performing while standing motionless & wearing black clothes to match his dyed black hair & dark sunglasses. Roy had lots of hits in the 60's such as "Only the Lonely", "Running Scared", "Crying", "In Dreams", "Love Hurts", "Blue Bayou" etc. In 1988, he co-founded the rock supergroup "Traveling Wilburys" with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, & Jeff Lynne. They had a lot of great songs such as "Handle With Care", "End Of The Line" etc.

Funny you mention those, because there were also movies using those titles. A lot of movies starting in 80s would use titles of popular songs because they were already in public consciousness. Therefore they were effective way of advertising if people automatically knew the song and it could be used in commercials or in movie soundtrack.

One of the best performances I've ever heard was the k.d. lang version of "Crying" done at a tribute to Roy Orbison in Cleveland in the 1990s. I'd wholeheartedly recommend a listen. Roy Orbison was a force of nature and k.d. lang is a force of nature as well.

Hey yall, Im Ashley and Im a big fan of yalls channel and I love yalls love connection. You can see how much you love and adore one another. Yall remind me of my hubby Justin and I. My husband and I have been together for 19 years now. But we were just friends and co workers for the first two years when we met on the job and I was 16 years old back in early 2003. He was almost 7 years older than me and one of my bosses. I had already gotten my GED and had been in homeschooling and I was working full time 40+ hours a week same schedule as him. Most people thought I was 21 years old because I looked older than my age, I had always dressed more like a college student than a teenager. I grew up so fast and had alot of responsibility on my shoulders and I didn't act like other teens. I tried to date guys my age but they were so silly and immature and not always respectful. My mother gave me the blessing to date guys sometimes 4 years older than me cause they treated me a thousand times better than some silly 16 year old boy. I was not looking for some spring fancy or summer romance. I was always ready to commit to the right man and be a wife. I didn't have any wild oats to sow. But I wanted to find a man who was a good gentleman and shared my same faith and was respectful to me and we shared a lot in common and were each other's best friend. And I ended up finding everything and more in my guy best friend and coworker who happened to be one of my bosses. He had been divorced for 3 years because his wife of one year cheated on him and got pregnant by another man's baby. You could sort of say that he had trust issues and just never dated and only focused on work. When I started working there he felt an instant connection with me. We had so much in common including our faith and how much we loved or heavenly Father. We had the same taste in music, movies and the literature. And I come to think of him as a great best friend. Now I did date some during this time. And I even got engaged when I was 17. And just weeks before I was supposed to say I do, I found out my fiance was cheating on me. I was hurt obviously but I think I wasn't as hurt as I should have been. I had cared for the man and loved him in my own way but I wasn't exactly head over heels in love with him. And he knew that and was okay with that. I thought that our love would grow more strongly over time. I didn't expect to ever experience the kind of love that could compare to a fairy tale. But months after my engagement was cut off I did start to see that I was starting to have growing feelings for my best friend. And I just never allowed them to grow because I was always very faithful to any boyfriend I had in the past. I would not allow myself to entertain thoughts of anyone else when I was with someone because I'm very much against cheating. I would not ever want anyone to do that to me and I would not want to do that to someone either. But fast forward several months my feelings for my best friend at work started to grow even stronger. And before I knew it I had fallen in love with him. But I never dared to let him know because I knew he had been hurt in the past and I knew that he had not dated since his divorce 5 years ago. Little did I know he had fallen in love with me and been in love with me for one year already. And he was patiently waiting for me to turn 18 and tell me that he had feelings for me. It was always the perfect gentleman and he never let me know that he was in love with me. I had no idea that when I was engaged back then that he was in love with me. But he didn't say anything because we didn't think that I could ever feel the same way and then I got engaged and he didn't want to take away any chance I had for happiness. But when I became single he had hope that there would possibly be a chance in the future that he would get to tell me how he fell. But it required patience on his part because I was still 17 and liked a few more months turning 18. But sometimes he would join me and my mother for lunch on our break when she was in town and it didn't take long for her to realize that we were secretly in love but not say anything about it. My mother absolutely adored Justin and thought he was an amazing man and could tell that he really did love me more than just a friend. So she pulled him aside one day and had a heart to heart conversation with him, And she asked him if he had feelings for me and he was honest with her and told her that he was in love with me but he respected my age and didn't have any problem with waiting for me to turn 18. My mother said that I've practically been an adult since I was 14 years old. I've taken care of her And also my grandmother during times when their health was failing them. I never really got into any trouble And my teen years because I was so mature and obedient to my mother who I was very close to. So that meant she gave me a lot more freedom than what other teenagers got because I never once broke her trust. But even then I did not take for granted any freedom she gave me. My mother knew that she had raised me to be streetwise and have good judgment. And she trusted me and understood that I needed a more mature partner and someone who would treat me with respect and be good to me. And she could see Justin being that man. And all my mother wanted was for me to be happy. And so she gave Justin her blessing for him to ask me out. After all I was fixing to turn 18 years old in less than 2 months. And so he did ask me out the next day and we've been together ever since February of 2005. And we got married in December 2006 when I was 19 years old and he was 26. Our age difference never bothered us once. And everyone in our family and at work was overjoyed for us being together because they could see we were perfectly matched for one another. And I count myself truly blessed to have found such a good man who happened to be my best friend for 2 years prior, so by the time we started to date we were already in a serious committed relationship because both of us have been in love with one another for some time now. He didn't try to rush me into marriage but he made his intentions clear that he did want to marry me but he wanted to give me time and let me decide when I was ready. So that's what we did. I had my mother and my grandmother walked me down aisle on our wedding day, since they were the ones who raised me. They didn't mind me being a teenage bride. They themselves married when they were 17 years old and their husbands was in their twenties also. And here in the south, I had several friends who were already married that got married when they were 17 years old and some of their husbands were around 4 years older than them. So it's pretty common you could say. Now I'm 37 years old and my husband is 44 and we are still very much in love. We bring out the best in one another and we encourage one another to have a deeper intimate relationship with God as well. And it has made our marriage stronger. I always wanted to have a good God-fearing man who knew how to treat women respectfully. And I could not ask for a better husband. We have always been faithful, honest and loyal to one another. He is one of the funniest guys I know. And he is playful. Not to mention handsome. He has blue eyes and blonde hair and is 6'3 tall and people say he looks like Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys. He also knows how much I love this song and how much I love the movie Pretty Woman. Also have a little bit of an obsession with vampires so the growling has definitely been introduced in our marriage for sure you could say. I think the GROWL worked for women back then just as much as it works for some women now. I think guys should definitely practice it and try it on their special lady. If she's anything like me she will get a kick out of it. It always makes me blush and get tickled and feel flattered whenever my hubby growls and says, "Come here baby". It's not on a every day basis but it does happen occasionally. This December is our 18 the wedding anniversary. I certainly expect some growling and loving for sure! 😅😂 We certainly have no problem keeping the passion in our marriage burning for one another.

Read in a comment on another channel review of a Roy Orbison song. The quote was, back in the time of Elvis, Elvis was asked how he felt about having the best singing voice in the world, Elvis replied, "I don't know, ask Roy Orbison". For decades have people have tried to describe Roy Orbison's voice and nobody can, they simply say he's unmatched. His connection to people was and is beyond anything you can label. Not long before he died he did a concert in black and white film. The concert/movie is called Roy Orbison - A Black and White Night. It is an absolute must watch if you were triggered by this reaction to his music. It is incredible and then you start to notice the legends sitting in the band playing with him that night. Ya can't name them all. Watch it, you won't be sorry.

You need to watch the "Black and White" special concert movie. It was on PBS television a few times...shouldn't be hard to fined, and check out all of the "A Listers" in the back up band. There are some songs that you know is going to be a big hit from the first time you hear it...this was one of them for me....I was 9 when this came out and I knew this was going to be just like that.

According to Wikipedia, the film originally had a different title; its eventual title “Pretty Woman” was taken from the Roy Orbison song.
