This model was made in Woodbridge Virginia at one of the two original games workshop stores in the USA. The Woodbridge Virginia store had a machine in the back room (don’t know what they are called) to make metal models for just about any mold from 1992ish to 2002ish. My daughter is currently painting the necromunda gang I had made there 30 years ago.

I've gotten a good laugh out of all of the theories of where this model came from, but this figure was made and packed at the Benson Avenue location in Glen Burnie, MD, exactly as indicated on the blister card. I have no idea where the information "it closed in 1984" comes from, but we were very much casting and packing metal figures at the Glen Burnie location until the early 2000s. I worked there! From that same era, if you remember "Ask Dirty Steve" from White Dwarf in the US version, he was there with me at the time (and we were roommates!), and he only ever worked at the Glen Burnie studio (aside from his stint in retail). Our fantasy campaign and our armies were featured in the US version of White Dwarf 206!

Something that strikes me more with each new video is how you really love the world of fantasy. There's no pretence here just raw passion for fantasy. A passion I share, so I'm aware how it feels to be someone with a lifelong love of fiction, and am readily immersed in a fantasy setting without need for convincing haha. Thanks again for the great video.

I love the Vallejo Metal Color range. You can brush it straight on so long as you don't dunk your brush. If you do take too much, a quick touch to some kitchen roll will wick away enough so it'll go on super silky and not flow away like crazy.

You want recommendations for cool old Ork models? Nothing beats Nazgrub Wurrzag. He was a named character from Gorkamorka. For the metal colour, mixing acrylic ink with it works rather well I found. My necrons have dull aluminium mixed with violet ink to give a nice colour. Though I'm tempted to strip them and try and again with violet mixed with blue ink mixed with the metal to give much more of a purple tone. Also, there is a special metal medium sold for those paints to do what you did with gloss medium, I'd imagine it probably doesn't impact the metallic nature of the paint like the medium might.

@@jakerubino3233 cool story, but given that Jay openly admits that he purposely calls the Star Wars prequels the best Star Wars movies because he knows it triggers the fans seems the more relevant fact here. The fact he goes out of his way to keep bringing up the model name seems further indication that’s he’s very aware that it would generate comments. Remember: negative comments and dislikes get paid the same as positive ones. Trolling people makes just as much money, if not more so, than not doing so.

I wonder if maybe the mini suffered from a lot of mis-casts and wasn't given a wider release because of that? There are a lot of textures on him that could perhaps have caused issues? Not an expert, but I can't see any other reason not to release such a nice sculpt.
