Ed, I'm assuming you did this last year. Is there a trip planned for this year? Looking to go in February or January. Thanks

Lodging is expensive, but ya. It’s real. Nagano is just as good.

haven't been to Nagano yet but I want to check it out

@@ShredSchool1 i would recommend going to Haneda Airport, stay over night in Tokyo or get to Tokyo Station before the end of the night because when you arrive there, it will be in the evening. It’s a 1hr 30 min on the bullet train. Nagano has a bunch of ski resort area. Three are well known: Shiga Kogen, Hakuba and Nozawa Onsen. I would recommend Myoko Kogen, but it’s a pain to get by bullet train, and it’s easier to get to if you drove there.

done 6 seasons in hakuba. peak season isn’t worse than hokkaido by a lot. steeper terrains

Lift passes are pretty cheap by US standards at Nagano. Hokkaido kill your wallet just for the stay during peak time. I think a week stay is comparable to Whistler BC hotel prices per week. A lot of people typically split the cost for an Airbnb.

@@Anukulous canadian living in japan, i can attest to that. but you have to do side country/BC/find trees for great pow. normal slopes are generally boring.
