I wouldn’t call the DeVonta Smith call a horrific call. It happened so fast, and in real-time it looked like an amazing catch. I don’t think anyone thought it wasn’t a catch until the replay was showed in slow-mo. The fact that Smitty got up and called for a quick snap should’ve been the 49ers coach’s indication to throw the red flag. The fact that Smitty had the presence of mind to get his team to the line quick and get the snap off was the sign of an excellent player.

The game that convinced me the NFL officiating was corrupt, was the NFC championship game between the Redskins and the 49ers. It was late in the game and the Redskins needed to keep their drive alive for a chance at a field goal to win the game. They went to forth down three times in a row. And all three times they did not make a first down on fourth down. The officiating called a penalty against the 49ers following each of the failed fourth down conversion attempts. One player was called for holding and wasn't anywhere near the play. What was the motive for the NFL to do this? Ronald Reagan was on national television stating he wanted the Redskins to win.

On Burrow’s grounding penalty, not only was Perine in the area, but should have gotten a roughing the passer call. Burrow was absolutely planted into the ground after he threw it with the DT full body weight on him. Mahomes didn’t get called for grounding on a very similar play either in the 4th quarter. The big punt return for KC had an egregious block in the back as well that wasn’t called.

Agree totally I even go further , had anyone questioned the the one handed catch which set up the first touchdown it would have resulted in the 49ers taking possession almost mid field as it was incomplete pass. 2nd touchdown got to give them. But the third touchdown the referees brought the ball into scoring position hitting the 49ers with three or 4 penalties in a row. And then the last touch down when Hurts running the edge of the sideline and gets physically knock out of bounds ,resulting in a personal foul unsportsman like . If you don't hit him chances are he walks a tight rope on the edge of field for a touchdown. Then when they do run it in for the score in the corner the defender trying to get out of the end zone to stop the touch down was being held. Im not really a sport fan or critic but even without a quarterback if it were not for the referees the Eagles barely beat the 49ers. In fact I believe the refs were told not to let the 49er defense win the game. Which is why some many penalties were called. And I doubt I'll even watch the Superbowl , It will be the hyped up eagles and the referees against the chiefs and a hobbling quarterback. Mahomes beware they will be playing like a bunch of thugs and try to hurt him.

What I think you're missing is any change at any point in the game would likely change everything that happened in the rest of the game. IF they had called an incomplete pass on the supposed one handed catch, that would have changed everything and it's quite possible Purdy doesn't get hurt. IF Purdy doesn't get hurt, San Francisco wins. Then there's no reason for someone to potentially miss some calls or make some bad calls in the next game and Cincinnati wins.

The official who has called more penalties on the Chiefs than any other team is the ref. They've done articles on how lopsided the games are. It's the same ref that Kelce threw a towel at 6 years ago--Cheffers. No matter what happens, no one will say the refs were for the Chiefs.

I was at the game and witnessed two of the refs continuously slapping hands with bengals players. Bengals players were constantly on the field over the out of bounds line through the entire game. They called everything against making it a shootout game. The over/under for the game was 48.5. It seemed like they tried to take off both chiefs touchdowns in the first half to keep the score low. And made multiple bad calls during the 2nd half to keep the score low.

There are many, many important games that can be looked at this way since RG took the public reign of the league. The 2003 Bucs vs. Raiders SB was the first one I experienced that appeared pretty obvious, with Raider players speaking out about it. The 2014 Seahawks vs 49ers conference championship had some terrible calls that entire game. The list is long and nasty!

Not a single holding penalty was called the entire game? You can't tell me KC's line could hold off that SF defense the entire game without holding at some point. that 50yd pass late in the game; Bosa was clearly held. That would have made it 3rd and 25.

I am someone who has bought into the conspiracy of the NFL putting the matchup that they want in the Super Bowl. The Steelers Seahawks Super Bowl seemed Crooked. But Maybe I'm just old school but that was Not a roughing the passer on Burrows. And that intential grounding was nowhere near the line of scrimmage And it was obvious that he was throwing it away. I'm a big Burrows and my Maholmes fan. I Love the ice in both of these quarterbacks veins. I happened to root for the same team you do and I wish we could have either one of these quarterbacks instead Just for consistency. #79 of the Bengals (Guard - Jackson Carman) is shown tossing/throwing Frank Clark like a slingshot into Burrow. That's why it wasn't called roughing the passer. You need look again and pay attention.

That was a clear hold by Apple so they deserve the 1st down, that is a soft excuse for a roughing call that Burrow is asking for (maybe half a second and he definitely was trying to sell the contact), you want to call the ball bouncing 10+ yards in front of a receiver not grounding? From what I understand, the play was stopped not because of the spot, but because of the clock. While the refs had it right, it has sparked many conversations with NFL Commentators about the rules on how the refs are supposed to handle clock issues during this off-season - it is something I wholeheartedly agree with and hope they get better rules in place. With the pass into the ground, that definitely was intentional grounding - behind the line and the receiver was not close to that spot of ground based on the circles shown. That said, the missed roughing call on the late push / hit of Burrow and the missed hit out of bounds by K.C. on a Cincinnati receiver, resulting in a skirmish after which a personal foul was called only against the Bengals were two big misses on the refs part. I am also not sure I would have been able to call the "roughing the passer" / un-sportsman like conduct on the late push of Mahomes out of bounds as it did not seem to be a hard push - IMHO - and had such a potential impact on the outcome of the game. It was a foul so it was the correct call, however if I was a ref I just may have said I blinked and missed it.....
