I did the same bus in March and also on previous trip. I think they are good to get your bearings and an overview and learn history (and a rest from walking) I used it on my first day when I was too scared to use Subway 😂. Totally agree Top Of Rock is best viewing deck with The Edge coming in 2nd. I recommend visitors getting the New York Pass as a tourist as it covers over 100 attractions. Was great value! (Included Hop on/off 48hr ticket, Empire State entry, Top of the Rock, The Edge, Statue of Liberty ferry and more. I miss NY and can’t wait to go back. 🇦🇺✈️🇺🇸

That’s changed since we did it years ago, they had someone giving the commentary, oh well saves the tips at the end. Our tour turned left at Battery park and went past the UN building, I suppose there’s more to see now going the way it does now. How about a short video on how to use the underground? That can be confusing for the first time especially buying tickets and if you try to go to Hoboken, different city same looking ticket. Great video again

Always enjoy doing a hop on hop off bus tour when my wife and I arrive in a new city. It's a great way to orientate oneself in a strange place. We find the 2 day pass is the best if you have time as you can do a complete circuit on the first day with a few stops, and on the second day, you can do more that you didn't have time for the day before, much more relaxed.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. As a US citizen, I find London more fascinating, with great museums that don’t charge admission, great food that is cheaper than it is in the United States (including groceries that cost about 20% less), and a homeless problem that is there, but still much less than it is in many established US cities like NY, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc… Both countries have social problems lacking resources to accommodate illegal immigration, but it is worse in the US, creating a ripple of government lawlessness.

Lee i use to be a taxi driver in Milton Keynes and one day i had a french lady in my cab who asked me if she could pay in euros when i said no, she asked me when is the UK going to use the euro instead or the pound, i replied never id rather be the 51st state of America than be part of the European Union and she went ballistic, i know this will upset a lot people but understand there is two sides to a coin and if it offends some people then i say to them no one has the right to not to be offended deal with it, we won you lost didums 😢

I like a ho-ho bus. I try to do them in the cities I visit. I would have preferred to see the sites and you talking in the background rather than going back and forth. I loved going to Manhattan. I went in 2002, 6 months after. Hearing the sirens always reminds me of that terrible day.

Funny Lee when you were saying the seats on top of the bus were hot, the fist time we went was 20 yrs ago with then our teenage kids, we took the top deck but as you can imagine in December was freezing, i made the family sit there on icy seat because i wanted the experience ha ha for about 30 min then we went downstairs, back in the day there was a tour guide on board and he was grateful cause if there was anyone on top they had to be too, but good way to see Manhattan for the first visit.😊

Here's an application for an electric vehicle: You can hear the stinky diesel engine the whole way... and the emissions from tour buses have been controversial in NYC for many decades. By the way, the Flatiron Building is currently completely empty, and has been for a couple of years... some kind of dispute between the City and the building owner that I can't remember any of the details of.

First day we walked from Empire State to Battery Park...didn't look far...and back again, all fuelled by Starbucks Caramel Frappuccinos. We took the bus twice, once at night, including Harlem and Brooklyn, and preferred walking tbh. Harry met Sally, yes. Nice public loos in there as well. One thing to mention is you can get film/tv related tours, if you like. Remember: Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer there's one in Korea Town...

Thank you for taking us on that open top bus tour so I don't have to! Views of lots of boring modern buildings and lots of traffic! No desire to visit NY or anywhere in the USA with the possible exception of Oakland, California where my grandparents lived from 1906 to 1912 although I believe that Oakland is now a real dump. My grandfather was a steam shovel operator and went to the US to work on the rebuilding of San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake and fire. He arrived at Ellis Island and travelled across the States by train. He sent lots of postcard views back to his family in Gloucestershire from NY and many other places as he crossed the States, stopping off for a bit of sightseeing as he went. I still have those postcards and a couple of things he picked up from the burnt out ruins of San Francisco.

Greyline are the best in NYC. Uptown & Downtown, we paid about £150 for a 3 day pass which gave us 3 admissions included, we did Empire State Building, Rockefeller & the New World Trade Centre, plus a river cruise! Amazing value. Compared to all the other countries and cites you've visited...AND I have followed you there, New York City's pure DENSITY is unbelievable. @richardgelber27407 ай бұрын
I think the reason the building went for such a low price is that it's a very iffy economic proposition. The place is very quirky, and the Apts won't be very large, and will be fairly low in number as it isn't very tall. The inside renovations will cost at least $100-$200 million, and I don't see it attracting many of the people now buying up on "billionaires row".
