As an owner of the GP-200, this thing is amazing. I use it for everything: practicing, recording and even gigging and it has never failed me or given me any problems. This product is easy to recommend because of how good the value for the money it brings and any begginer that gets this, will be set for years to come because you really don’t need anything else (except for monitors obviously).

The Captain digging digital pedalboards is hysterical. I went all digital in 2018, sold pretty much all my gear taking up floor space and landed on a Line 6 Helix. Put a lot of money in my Mustang GT500 downpayment bank account. In fact I like it so much I sold most of my guitars too. I put over $10,000 into my bank account by selling guitars and going fully digital. Anyway, I play to a couch in my studio so having a ton of gear just wasn't necessary. I can get very close to every sound I need with a Helix.

BY FAR, ONE OF THR BEST REVIEW “ quick tutorial “ VIDS I’VE SEEN. I ORDER ONE ON LINE AS SOON AS VIDE WAS OVER. GREAT JOB GUYS!!! I’m an old caveman that just took out his Roland VS-840 to start recording my rocking kids. If I actually understand how to use it with this quick demo I’m sure that anyone with a 1/4 of a brain can figure it out too. I barely know how to download apps on my phone 🤣 Yes I’m a freaking caveman. My daughter is KILLING IT on the drums, so is there a way I can record her drums so she can play piano and saxophone to help her record her stuff. Son is the guitarist so this is mainly for him but I figured my princess can use it too. Quite frankly all I can do is stare at my VS-840, then stare at the Bible size instructional manual and get really down on myself bc I can’t remember how to use it. It’s been 25 to 30 years ago since I last used it 😞 Sorry for long message but if anyone knows something I can use to record her drums I would REALLY appreciate it. Obviously I would have to get mics needed for it. Thank you brothers & sisters 🤙🏽🖤🤙🏽

It may not be for everyone but I reckon for the low dollar it is compared to many other similar units of other brands it’s a decent well made piece of kit, plenty of good sounding FX, amps, cabs, IRs, looper, cheesy drums but there if you want it, you can’t really fault it for the price and easy to edit all parameters you want, good display and able to reorder FX in chain. I’ve used the GP100 and for its low price it sound pretty good if you’re willing to edit parameters to your desired tones you want and not expect presets to sound as you want straight away, you gotta be willing to work with any bit of gear to achieve your wanted tones. I get paid on Friday and I’m gonna order one. Thanks for your review gents.

I've been playing through an Ampero for the last few years and absolutely love it. No effects loop, but I really don't need that, as the onboard sounds do pretty much everything I generally need to do. The midi implementation is a little weird, but it does work. And it all fits in my gig bag. I either plug directly into a PA or into an FRFR powered speaker. People are amazed at how good this sounds through a PA. I see that I can buy this Valeton unit for $314 in the USA. At that price, I think I'll pick this up as a 'backup device'.

*I've been through countless test videos and returned a $600 touch screen does it all disaster all the reviews worshiped from whatever other brand at the time. This is the best sounding unit I have heard and I'm not a fan of monstrous floor units. I own one, it's spectacular but a nightmare to program by hand vs USB, and I bought it at 50% off so I couldn't pass it up.* The "budget" level models with an expression pedal are more than enough considering how much gear most of us already own. I play 2-hand touch, instrumentals and am a shredder. *I also have a formal education in subatomic physics and engineering, aka electrical/electronics engineering lol.* My standards are far above elite and gear snob lol.

Just got one off eBay, something that some might find handy to know. The aux-in presents as USB inputs 3 and 4 in your DAW (I use LoopyPro on ipad) so I can easily incorporate hardware synth very easily (I don’t think you can use Valeton effects on USB) but no biggy as ipad world is AUV3 rush 😀. Also you have USB 5 and 6 that provide loop back for more audio fiddling with sources on ipad. iPad plugged via usbc (yay) to Valeton and then in to the return of my Vox AV30 I have managed to get rid of a lot of kit and am very happy with result..

A pretty cool package. I don't mind at all that there is no touchscreen on board. Somehow you have to achieve the low price and the operation looks very intuitive without it. Btw: As for the "I don't know which effect is on which switch" thing. I'm pretty sure you can name CTRL1 to 4 for each patch, so you see the names in the main patch screen. Can anyone clear this up who already has this unit? I'm currently using a Boss GT1 and although I'm happy with it, I can't shake the feeling that it sounds a bit muddy at times and lacks brilliance in the higher tones, if that makes sense. If anyone has been able to compare the two, I'd love to hear your thoughts on possibly switching to this one. Cheers!

@@guyguy8809 I switched to the MG 30 by NUX. I absolutely love the unit and it's ridiculous what you get for your bucks. They also just released a new firmware that improves the unit again. It's worth taking a look. Just make sure you watch recent videos cause they really updated the thing over time. Maybe it's to your liking.

@Andertons Music. Love your videos. I just bought the Valetone GP-200 and was wondering if you have any videos on how to set it up to record in your D.A.W.? What set ups work for that i.e. XLR or USB? DO YOU NEED TO GO THROUGH VALETONE SOFTWARE ON COMPUTER? ALL NEW TO ME. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I use Studio One software and am a recent convert from 4trk cassette recording. Thank you

Would you recommend this over the MX-5? Money no object, is there that much of a material difference for a non-giggling/recording player between something like this/MX-5 against spending 3-4 times as much on an AX8/Helix/used Axe FXII?

I d really like to know whats going on with the treble bleed in case you roll back the volume- with this MED, using a Strat for single coil or a PRS for HBs. Most multieffect devices lose treble brilliance immediately when you roll back. That said the valeton ME sounds promising.

Does the looper have a memory bank to save loops or upload them? Seeing as these are linked to the ampero that has no looper memory or upload feature well at least the ampero 2 stomp.

I just got one of these, given to me to review. I would put it up against the HeadRush MX5 that I own any day of the week. The HeadRush isn’t bad, but requires a lot of tweaking to get it to sound good. The presets it ships with are all pretty much deletable garbage. You can play the Valeton GP-200 straight out of the box and find usable presets straight away. For around $250, the Valeton just has so many positives. I thought I would like the touchscreen on the MX5, but it sucks having to dig around to find the most used settings, whereas on the GP-200, they are knobs right on the front! Actual, full sized Balanced XLR’s on board, A modern USB-C port rather than the silly USB-B connector from 20 years ago… And on and on. I had written the thing off without ever trying it because I thought it was too cheap to be worth my time, but holy-cow is this thing an amazing bargain! I think they set the price way too low for all that you get. I want to see these folks put out a high-end, top of the line model, because if this is any indication of what can be done in DSP these days, it would have to be freaking amazing!

Does this unit have Snapshot capabilities similar to the Helix? In a live setting it is invaluable to create tonal variations across Snapshots, then press one button to change seemingly infinite parameters simultaneously rather than simply turning a particular pedal on/off.

I love my GP-200 for the variety of sounds it offers and pro features like midi in and out. It's looper and drums are meh, but I'm spoiled by my Singular Sound Beat Buddy and Aeros looper, which I use to sync the GP-200s delay effects. Wish I could stack multiple delays and overdrives etc, but overall it's a winner. Still sufferes from what all digital approaches do - namely, so many options that you risk tweaking/geeking-out all day instead of practicing and playing. The modeling is really good to my ear, and has helped me refine and add variety to my sound that's simply not possible using a tradional amp, pedal and cab set-up. I busk, so it's compactness and portability and feature set are awesome. So is it's price.

Does the looper work ok? If you make a mistake you can delete that layer instead of full thing?
@TheWilliamHoganExperience
@TheWilliamHoganExperience Жыл бұрын
@@dazscrivo All loopers are unforgiving of mistakes. Especially in timing. Even the areos, which can quantize minor glitches. The problem with them is that they don't care about your ego or feelings.They don't make mistakes either. They just play yours back to you and the audience until you stop them and start over. All loopers I've used, and I've used at least 10 over the years, allow you to build and delete layers / overdubs. The problem is that this function only goes one overdub deep before deleting the whole track. It's like only being able to go back one step. The problem isn't with getting overdubs right. The main problem is getting the intial loop tight. Overdubs are not as critical to stop and start perfectly. The aeros is multi-track and multi-part with a visual display for tracking, and midi clock and command integration to sync-up with the Beat Buddy. The Beat buddy in turn sounds AWESOME, and can be used as the master clock for both the aeros loop studio and my TC Triple delay. This means my delay effects are always in sync with whatever tempo is selected on the beat buddy / aeros. In short, it's far from simple, and it's taken me years to get reasonably comfortable performing with a looper. Building a looping rig is like building a custom instrument you operate with your feet. One that's computer synchronized and intehrated with your guitar and drum effect signals. I use a mini tascam recorder to mix everything, and it's all output in stereo to my Bose S-1 PA speakers. The rig cost me thousands of dollars to build, mainly because of years of failed experiemnets trying to get the exact sound and workflow I wanted. It's a huge undertaking - at least it was for me. My advice is to start with something simple and cheap, like the $50 "Lekato" looper on Amazon and see if you have what it takes (patience) to learn how to loop simple single part songs like "Knocking on Heaven's Door" that just repeat the same simple open chords throughout the song. Once you master that, get yourself a more expensive double or triple button unit that offeres a SINGLE button STOP so you don't have to double tap when trying to stop the thing perfectly on the beat. I was never able to master that skill, and I'm pretty good at that sort of thing. Drums are another layer to work in - some loopers have built in drum machines, but I didn't care for any of them personally for performing. OK for practice though. Beware: Every BOSS looper short of their massive 5 or whatever channel looper board require DOUBLE TAPPING to stop. This makes them USELESS as perfomance tools. At least for me. Again, looping is HARD. It's not like buying a cool distortion pedal or boutique amp and suddlenly you sound like the God Thor when you play a power chord. It's time consuming (years in my case) and frustrating, especially for the first month or two until you start getting the timing right. It will make you a MUCH better muscian if you stick with it, and get good at it. Much better I'm starting to do videos of my pedal board and how it works. Subscribe to my channel and hit the notification bell etc and hopefully something I post soon will help you out....
