This is the current 'poster child' for boat reviewers'. Alex's review trumps all of them by a wide margin. Alex excels at illustrating the practical side of a boat builders many design decisions...and how can a "review" earn that term unless its handling is assessed. Another great review of yet another handsome boat. Thank you, Alex.

Having driven the boat personally, and not standing on the drop down step, the driving position is perfect. Yes if you want the wind in your hair stand up on the step or when coming in to berth her if you prefer, however it is much better still, in my opinion, to be sat in the comfy seat, whilst you still have some hair left.

*:#"* did a tour of this lovely Targa. I loved it. Now you're doing the driving test. Let the fun begin. 😊 34 knots 😊, handling 😊, smooth operator😊, and watch her go with Alex 😊. Nice fast pace boat, even with the sea and the wind your dealing with. A good test for her. Nice. Nice decor, stylish, and the cabins and galley do the job being comfortable good amount of usable space. Cockpit very versatile for seating with the drop down balcony plenty of party space or dining space. Plus a garage for a tender and access to port engine. The cockpit area gives access to engine room and can get good access to starboard engine. Nice beginners boat, or owner only or family boat. Once again Targa done it again.

Very nice boat with a price tag but I do have a concern on the eyeline/view when at the helm, your review really shows just how active you have to be to get all round visibility to navigate safely especially when cruising at speed and with the sunroof closed which could be a considerable amount of time in Northern Europe I would see this being even more of a challenge.

Nice video! I went directly to find a dealer next to me and asked for an offer. No reply for 2 months. My 42 foot Phantom is sold so I must be a good customer. But sadly no mail from the dealer. Nice boat and will buy one from where I bought the 42. Thank's for a great video.

Great video for a great yacht-boat.

As usual a wonder video. The windshield is too low. This just made me think of Richard Hamnond driving his Morgan with the top down in the rain saying what a wonderful spring day it was. I would not drive that boat like that in that weather. Here in the US that is trawler weather. Nice and warm inside. Still I'd love one.

I'm intrigued..... do you have an exception to the 6 and 8 knt speed limit within the harbour and river? What a beautiful machine.... wonderful. Fairline have done a great job.

Cold and wet what a great boat for English weather. Your up and down like your riding a horse.

Seeing the Volvo D6 380 consumption graph on the brochure the 4.5 lp per nm consumption seems on the high and off. At 3000 rpm the D6 380hp consume 47 liters per hour per engine equals 94 liters total divide by 25 that come to about 3.7 liter per nautical miles. The correct fuel consumption number for this kind of boat and weight. In the review you say 25 knots I would Imagine boat was running at probably a bit under that 3k rpm with that cruising speeds, so the 4.5 liters per nautical miles consumption seems high and off for a forty footer give or take of about 10 tons running weight. It would interesting how you got that number, MFD display, numbers by the manufacturer?

Interesting boat, but spect up at around £1million after tax? If I had that kind of money, I would be looking for much more on the used market. Good review, though.

Great review Alex or a very cool boat. Slightly disappointing looking driving position and needing tabs a lot on the Orwell doesn’t bode well! Shame you didn’t take it out to sea 😬

Why do a lot of boats have the top of the windscreen so low it’s all ways in the eye line ?

Love the brand but you did seem to struggle with view

Looks like a slammer seeing that hull. A hopelessly compromised vessel for people with no idea about boats

No it's not - Fairline has sacrificed safety (visibility) for extreme styling. As noted by the presenter the thick mouldings on the starboard side is very thick and limits visibility. Also, the top frame of the windscreen is way too thick and way too low. I think this boat is unseaworthy in it's current design.
