@@ryanrios3435the powered magnetic hi hat is specifically designed for this module. The triggers are all new/different from the strike. With that said, if you use the strata cymbals with the strike shells, they will probably work, but likely not as good. You might have to do some adjusting to get it right.

I'm curious about what Alesis can do with the entry level drum kits, using the same engine sound of this new module. I'm very happy with my Roland TD-17KV. Now, I have 100 different drum kits in the module. Congrats Alesis for this new complete drum set and the module.

Very cool to see Alesis getting into this space. I will say, however, that I think the Yamah DTX Pro modules undoubtedly sound better than what I've heard so far of this, and the Pearl Mimic Pro is way above it. I also don't like how thick the cymbals look and that the hi-hat doesn't get more immoveable when you press down on the pedal. Finally, I don't like how long it takes to boot and load up.

I currently own a Roland TD30 that is getting old and that I'm considering to replace. After watching a lot of demos and reviews, the Alesis Strata Prime appeared quite promising to me. The only downside (which is a complete show stopper for me) is the limited number of output on the module. That is really a problem for live performance because 6 outputs are definitely not enough to give full mix control to a sound technician. That is too bad because I loved everything else from this kit... starting from the huge touch control display, to the reasonable available memory size, without forgetting the astonishing look of that kit. This must be part of the reason why this kit is far less expensive than the high end Roland V-Drums (it has the same price as what I paid for the TD-30 a decade ago).

I tried this instore today, it was incredible. I used to own a gen 1 Strike Pro, and td50kv. This is head and shoulders superior to any edrum I've played. The hardware is robust and solid conpared to the Strike, the cymbals trigger like Roland's digital ride except all of the crashes are incredible. The toms have beautiful dynamic range in the samples. The sounds are bloody beautiful, there's no percieved latency unlike the Strike Pro. £3,000 is a lot until you compare it to the competition. Unfortunately I cant afford one yet, but I personally think the price is a steal for what you get. The only downside is the lack of automatic cross stick detection such as Rolands digital snare. But I don't even care, because the rest was just THAT good.

@@bucksfan8344More Outputs = More control over drum sound. 4 outputs will most likely be: Kick, Snare, Toms& Cymbals as 3&4. This limits the ability to mix at gigs or for recording purposes. If it was 8 outputs, you can add auxiliary sounds such as clicks or sound effects that can get mixed or routed differently so it can be integrated with musicians such as when they are using in ear monitors (click tracks). Most of all, it opens up the ability to separate the kick, snare, toms (4 toms - alesis) , and cymbals (left & right) through the 8 outputs. This is just my opinion. Thanks!

Ok, after watching some legit reviews elsewhere. Props for the software design, but the module clearly has a cheap processor based on serious lags loading kits. Even when the kit loads, some of the components take awhile to catch-up with the rest of kit (See 65 Drums review). No biggie if you're not playing a live gig. Otherwise your band mate's might go on a cigarette break while your kit loads. I know this salesman is excited about 128GB, but a 256GB NVME 3500 mb/s goes for under $17 bucks. 512's run about $35 US. You know why he's excited about 128GB ? One word. Yamaha ! 🤣 Things we noticed, 2 less inputs & one less crash cymbal than the Strike SE (But lets jack up the price by a $1000 US... Go Alesis, you guys are my heroes).So this came out priced as the same as the Roland TD27KV2. (What a relief for Roland ! ) No digital snare, therefore no positional sensing. Hi-hat tends to wobble and guys at DCP noticed crosstalk leaking from Pads to Cymbals. Neither Hi-hat nor Cymbal's are digital. Trust me its not that simple for Alesis to just create a digital hi-hat, Roland's got the patents and Alesis already got whacked in court for the mesh head thingy with Roland. If you're a thumper like this guy doing the demo, no big deal. But you want dynamics/articulation. Either get an acoustic or go Roland or EF Note. Oh yeah, its not wireless either. But Gear4Music thinks its the Kit of the year. Hey they get excited about 128GB Hard drives in the year 2024.... Yay ! Cool upload guys. Thanks . It was fun , Luv your channel 😂🤣😂
@CARV.R
@CARV.R 3 ай бұрын
There is no drum kit on this module that takes longer than 2 to 3 seconds to load, and that is also based on the presets that you've chosen to play. The reason that Roland kits lload faster is because there is about 2/3 less of articulations per kit instrument lol record the first drum kit on any TD50kv module and compare it to this module 😀 indeed there are less outputs but when is the last time you needed more than six mono outputs for a drum module? If you're in a studio scenario, you'd just use a plugin no? If you want more Dynamics and articulation you should probably check out every other video out there about the kit haha everything else is subjective especially hi hat feel. Also, does Roland have a wireless drum kit at this price point? If not then what is the point of this comment? I'm pretty sure that's only reserved for the $12,000 kit DW makes no? Hope this was enlightening 👍

Not really so advanced. They did not provide for simultaneous multitrack recording of the individual drum channels. This is a big let down.
