You really need to provide more tutorial in Lychee as you are very fluent in explanations

You can block supports in cura. You can press "E" or select it from options on the left side. Then you place cubes that you can scale.

Cura does have a "support blocker" tool. I'm using the generic Cura 5.1.0. It isn't showing in your Elegoo skinned version though. Looks like it's based on an older version.

Thank you! I’ve been happy with Prusa Slicer for my FDM/SLA farm for years, and support for Non-Prusa machines is getting much better, good to see some of the other slicers catch-up😎

I've been learning Lychee as I get into resin printing, and I would love to be able to use it for fdm too!

Thanks Vog! I am always looking for upgrades and mods for my FDM printing experience and love testing out new ways of doing things. I just downloaded Lychee and am excited to try it with my Snapmaker2 250 which is supported!

I've been using Lychee with my Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro and have had no issues. It's run smooth and fast and the layout makes sense to me. Thus far nothing but success for me besides trying to print a ruined fantasy wall in vase mode. It printed fine except for the top which was basically just a outline of stones.

I am simple boy. I see Vog man video and I click. Also, I just bought your funnel stl and am loving it. I do want to try my hand at modding it so that the portion with the holes is separate and can clip on to other funnels.

yeah, so... prusa slicer (or even better superslicer) seem much more powerful and more refined. Also they are free. The manual supports are interesting, but prusa supports paint on supports so you can just mark the wanted areas and it automatically creates appropriate supports I like lychee for resin, but this seems too basic so far

Cura have a add-on so you get at support blocker, then you can choose where you dont want supports

Nice that they offering support for both if you use both types swapping between slicers can be a pain. Also, there are not a lot of great slicers for FDM, with Prusa probably being on the better side of things, but overall this was a good thing.

Just to observe that seam alignment is available in Cura 5, at least, as an option. I do think you have to look it up and add it, but all my custom Cura profiles include random seam alignment.

only issue i see is the time straight out of the box compare to Prusa and Cura overall time is slower, i did a test using a 20mm calibration cube with 0.2 layer height, 15% infill and no extra bed ad, travel speed 50mm/sec, PLA 200 degrees, bed 60 degrees. Lychee 31mins, Cura 29 mins, Prusa 23 mins.

I think Lychee is a great software for resin, but surprisingly not as many of it's 'killer apps' carry over to FDM for me (or at least, certainly at the free tier). I was interesting hearing your opinions of Cura, since I've never worked with it, and instead have been using Prusaslicer. From this review, I'm pretty certain I'll stick with Prusaslicer for the time being--there's a lot more features & settings for adjusting, I have need of a custom printer profile (and lychee doesn't seem to allow that yet), etc. From what I've heard, Cura may have even more options than Prusaslicer, but from what you've mentioned and what I've also heard elsewhere, is that they are quite well obfuscated from the end user. I hope they continue to develop their beta at Lychee though. If the whole chitu-systems debacle taught us anything, is that a little bit of competition is always a good thing.

This is a great video, I'm looking into seeing if my work will swap using Chitubox and Cura for Lychee now that they have added the filament update, I might wait a little while though as I'm really struggling to learn now to use the resin setting on the free version (What I'd give for a course from these companies so I don't get conflicting info from peoples reviews and tutorials!)

Lychee have a KZbin channel that has many instruction videos in short bite size clips that are very clear and easy to understand (even with the French accent). I recommend it, I am new to resin printing and found it an invaluable learning tool. Also, you can not go wrong with people like Vogman here, he is very good with the instruction videos.

Ya man Cura has all the same features where you can add supports right where you need them. Lychee is ok for FDM but Cura is still better by far (IMHO)..I will give lychee some more time to see as I do want to add a resin printer to my collection so it would be nice to us just one slicer ;-0
