I’m thinking of getting one! Do you have Instagram if you don’t mind sending me a video or a picture of it because apparently the colour dosent look like the pics on vintage website. Thanks!

I'm in Canada also, no retailers here at all. The reason i'm watching your review is because a black one with gold hardware appeared in the used department of my local music store. I really was shocked when i tried at the store and thinking of pulling tge trigger.

I have a vsa500, same color as yours. It's not easy to find this model in my country (Brazil). I was a lucky man to find it. I loved your cat.

Ha! Good guess, but no. I know my particular accent/manner of speaking is a weird mix at this point.

Don't disagree that it sounds ok but the compromises to the shape Vintage have had to make to avoid litigation from Gibson has produced a travesty IMHO.

I'd say "travesty" is somewhat of an over exaggeration, but I respect your opinion and, if I'm being honest, I can see why you'd feel that way. When the trade was first offered I wasn't a fan of the shape, AT ALL. But, for one reason or another, it started to grow on me. Actually playing it was what sold me on it. The feel (especially the super chunky neck) and the overall quality of construction was enough to quell my dislike of the esthetics. I DID wind up doing some mods (new pickups, pots/caps and a trapeze tailpiece) so it's pretty Cadillac now...albeit goofy looking haha. Oh well, works for me I suppose. Thanks for your input, cheers.

In my humble opinion , having actually seen and heard one of these , I think you're over-egging the pudding quite a bit trying to criticise this guitar .I have encountered people who have shelled out for a Gibson or a Fender and are really hostile to this make of guitar . Trevor Wilkinson worked closely with Seth Lover of Gibson and also Leo Fender . Gibson used Wilkinson parts so how can they say they're inferior ? They are not in the slightest inferior just less expensive .

@@jamesguitar7384 I have the original iteration by JHS Vintage that's called the VSA535 that has the correct body shape and its a far better guitar than the modern VSA500. But this guitar was discontinued many years ago before Vintage ever considered expanding into the USA.

@@Edward1312 The VSA500 sounds very good to me . There's an interesting video from Richards Guitars comparing the Vintage to the Gibson . I'll put the link here. There's also a very informative KZbin video called '10 Times The Tone? kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2HOnZ6qf6mbjdk youtu.be/wwwube.com/watch?v=iq-vik2qfME&t=13s ,
