Have you seen the price on the new Emonda ALR with shimano 105 di2, at least in Portugal, is at 2300€, that's an amazing price. You can complete the bike with time and have an absolute beast. €1k for some elite drive wheels, 300€ for a farsports f1 HB and the canyon split seat post. And it's a bike that will go up with some bikes that are being sold for 5k

@@GCPerformance18 , correct! I would go for this way. :) Cause as far as I remember the weight difference btw Ultegra Di2 and Dura ace di2 is smth around 200-300 grams, and Sram Red equals the level of Dura Ace, however, cheaper significantly. And I see no disadvantages now using Sram Red vs Shimano (used the whole of my life). So, it looks there is a good plan to consider Trek Madone SL, which is heavier, than SLR, but to equip it with better (lighter) wheels and lighter groupset. It looks overall it might become less heavier than smth like SLR on Sram Force))) :-)

Trek went out of control with design to get performance and now they look over the top stupid. Less is more with style is still how to build a proper bike. That is my take.

at the end of the day these companies have been in buisness for so long and these are still just bikes, people want new consumers want change, I know people will say they dont but I see it first hand, so trek doing this and changing the bike model to something different and to add a benefit for conusmer is a cool design, I agree the look is not for everyone but that is okay as well
