I went to the Royal Welsh show with our merch tent and it was incredible!!
We saw so many breeds of sheep and cattle.... and even pigs! The sheep shearing was the highlight for me!

ABOUT ME
I’m 32 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 850 breeding ewes.
I shore over 19,000 sheep this season in the UK and have my own shearing run which lets you see many different farms in the summer months.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on KZbin and decided I could have a go and now here we are!

As a permanent resident of Japan, it has been many years since my last visit to this show. I do miss going. My father and nephew went and most likely my brother too. I also was pleased to see the 'YesCymru' flags and paraphernalia out in force.

There are. FFA-Future Farmers of America, highschool club. Highschool classes , A couple of farm fraternities in colleges nationwide plus lots of county and statewide shows for flora and fauna AND

Living in a rural part of VA there's tons of young farmers around and the schools have programs like FFA, and 4H that many kids participate in. I know kids from kindergarten on up that show livestock across the state and some up and down the East Coast. There's not as many as there were a couple decades ago but there's not a many small farms left either.

A fun video at the Royal Welsh Show. All kinds of critters as well as sheep. I had an uncle who was Welsh and he and my mothers sister, his wife, lived I. Montreal Canada. He was a very humorous person and I loved it when he visited. It was bloody this and bloody that with his accent. Such a fun person. So happy you had a successful show. Pretty cows also. I don't have a specific family heritage, just an american euro-mutt, but if I have to choose, I identify as Welsh. Everything I see convinces me more. I thought nothing could top bog-snorkeling, but that show looks like a grand ol' time.

I was curious if you have a breed called Finn Sheep in Scotland? If not in Scotland, have you come across them elsewhere? If you have come across them, I wondered what you thought about their super sized "litters of lambs", their variety of colors of fleece, the quality of the wool, etc.

Cammy,I took my ram away from my 20 ewes 3 weeks ago,he was with them since he put them in lamb last November (lambs were weaned 6 weeks ago)but today I let a different ram run with them,will they come in heat after being separated from the past ram for 3 weeks or do they need more time?
