It was included with the saw as a promotion when I ordered mine, but I can't cut the slot with the blade supplied as it fouls underneath, which means the plastic piece bends upwards when the plate is inserted...and yes, the blade is at its lowest point.

I think that might be because there’s a bit of give in the plastic. You could try locking the fence over it to support it without getting in the way or where the blade will come up. Then just give it time to cut through. I had a similar problem when I made a wooden one before I got this one and this was how I did it.

Will it be OK for 45 degrees cut or is it just 90 degrees only .thanks Bob

You’d need to have separate middle inserts sections so you have one for 90 degrees and one for 45 degrees Bob. I’m not sure if they sell the plastic middle bits separately or not at the moment though.

My throat plate is lower than the actual table, so smaller cuts sort of fall into it and give a uneven finish :(

Your zero clearance one? Does it have adjustable grub screws in the corners? I think the latest ones do.

I thought your viewers would like to know that Evolution isn't offering the upgraded Insert Plate to folks in the United States. I contacted their support and they wouldn't even let me purchase one saying they can't ship to the USA. Very disappointed! I guess I'll try one of the many 3D printed designs on Etsy.

Oh no, that is a shame! Perhaps it’s because the cost to return it under warranty would mean they either need to charge a lot more or risk losing money. I’ve heard some of those 3D printed ones can be pretty good though.

I am not impressed with it at all, the plastic insert is far to flimsy and if you are using a 255mm blade then it fouls it before you have even had a chance to cut the slot in it. I would suggest using a 235mm blade. In my option very poor for a OEM product.

Thanks for your thoughts. My plywood one was definitely stronger in the middle but a pain to make and not as neat. When comparing it to the flimsy orange thing that came with my saw originally though I’d have to say this new one is loads better.
