Love the banter lads great video 🎣 ps me and Harley have had codlings (tiny) on urfe rigs quite few years ago on roker pier 😂 but we wouldn’t of learnt about the urfe rig if it wasn’t for coming down and meeting yous all during the England pathways 👍

I’m not sure what was funnier, your dogfish face, your strap eel face or Darren tripping over 😂😂😂. Well done though 👌🐟🎣

Definitely Darren! I was deadly serious. He's a clown. No contest. 🤡 🤣

Excellent session however forget the cod mullet bass best species has to be the hermanator, and best part of the video is Darren trying out for the Australia breakdancing team with that fall 😂 See you on the next one 😎🎣👍🏼

It was great to see Herman Jr. As for Darren, I have no words. The guy's an awesome angler and an awesome break dancer. Legend!

Loads of fun and banter with some fishing thrown in for good measure. Darren's breakdancing was on point too. Excellent Tom!!

Excellent bit of entertainment, the best double act of the fishing world since Mortimer and Whitehouse (maybe some better examples out there?) Productive session topped with a few red mullet and some cod 👏

Thanks mate 😁 We tried to be serious once, turns out we're not very good at that.

Brilliant stuff as always, loved the red mullet never expected those this time of year! Great entertainment Too many times when unable to fish but when these storms have passed the fishing looks amazing.

It was lovely to see those red mullet. The time of year was less surprising than catching them on 2/0 pennels!

Hi Tom, the rig looks great. Good to see you using it with one hook and not 3 keeping it simple and effective. Can I ask what is the role of the Urfe bar? Is it to exaggerate the movement of the shockleader by creating a 'pivot' or something else? Looks very similar to a running ledger rig or an up and over with a long snood along the sea bed but guessing the Urfe bar adds something extra
@FishyTomАй бұрын
Hi mate. Urfes are great little things. I like to promote them so much because they're so easy and hopefully it'll encourage a few new or inexperienced anglers to get into making their own rigs, rather than relying on shop bought. I could do all my videos with complicated (to new anglers) rigs, but this may put people of trying fishing. They do work much the same as a running ledger, with two slight advantages. Firstly you can just clip them on and off without having to tie anything on the beach, great if you're chopping and changing rigs throughout your session. Sencondly they do give a better "bolt" action, so we could argue they set the hooks better. The snood also "helicopters" around the bar, so may offer slightly better tangle resistance to a running ledger. I hope some of that helps, and thank you for the great question. 😁

Well @fishytom! Just did Chesil, 200 yds past the dragons teeth, used an up and over based on your concept of the Urfe rig, happy days loadsa fish! Great thing about it, it was nice n simple, and straight forward to change hooks and make sure they're ultra sharp! Nicely done with the massive blonde! Here's my trip to chesil if ur interested- kzbin.info/www/bejne/p56Qg5KiadR2orcsi=pgg3SFLjgJkmUs5l 🙏

@FishyTomАй бұрын
The water is so warm still, think there's plenty of species to catch still. Hope the storm hasn't done too much damage 🙏

@ just 60 hours without electricity and Wi-Fi with too young kids enough to test anyone’s patience 😀 we actually missed our club flounder match as our rods and bait were in the garage behind an electric door 🤬

Don't you find the Urfe bar method just acts like a bolt rig and with smaller fish you don't get any further indication after the initial bite?
@FishyTom25 күн бұрын
Yes, the urfe is a good bolt rig, this is where it's different to a running ledger. As with all rigs, small fish will often give an initial indication, then not a lot after. One of the main reasons not to leave your rig out there for too long.

Hi, would you be able to suggest a good pair of chest waders.. for a short slim guy..size 8 boot? all i can find is for fat or tall guys im afraid. Also for my curiosity, what rods are you using here? Thanks.
@FishyTomАй бұрын
In this video I'm using my beloved Veret Syria, in my opinion (and that is only my opinion, we all differ) the best rod on the market today. The other is my old trusty Veret Stellanera, just in case the conditions got bad enough I needed 7 or 8oz of lead! Waders are tricky, as they all seem to be designed for a body shape that doesn't exist! lol I have found my breathable stockingfoot waders have always been a much slimmer fit. Savage Gear and Greys both do nice ones that I've played with. Downside is they are more expensive than your general rubber or nylon waders!
@kevslife29 күн бұрын
@@FishyTomthanks for the reply tom, good of you i shall have a look at those, I'm really struggling to find anything suitable. I like the look of your rods and I've not seen them before. I use two penn tidal xr 450's I'm getting to grips with the length of them but they're nice enough. Also, Happy new year.
