Dear Hunter For some time now, i have commented on almost every video (along with PM's your Instagram and dammit, i almost sent you an email...!) you have put out, since we got the news of the delayed production of the HB Agufish SIG guitar. Now that we have a specific date of the (MUCH awaited!) release, i would like to say, from the bottom of my heart: Fuck Y.... i mean Sorry, for the amount of comments and PM's that i have sent about the guitar, the last couple of months. The excitement i feel, when i see the pictures of the upcoming guitar, makes me so happy, that my dog films me and puts it on DogTube and gets millions of views. Iiiiiiiiiim kinda a celebrity.... Voof Voof and all that... Anyways, sorry for my continous rude and obnoxious comments and PM's about the release of the guitar, these couple of months. Im stopping from now on. If i like the 1'st one (which i am 100% buying!), i think i will buy a 2nd one. And thank you for reading this random, attempted comic comment. I know your own Doggo isnt that happy at the moment, but i hope she gets better soon. A lot of love from Denmark! Cant wait for my..... *Inhales Intensely*.... Yeah, I totally agree on the old headstock with binding was cool - and the new/old headstock looks cool without the binding - but in the end - it looks like Epiphone, which is the oldest brand of guitar that I know of - that is still around - was the surprise hit of Winter NAMM.

@@williamsporing1500 I played my first Epiphone Les Paul Custom in 1989. I was at this huge guitar shop in San Diego (not GC) and I was there to buy a Charvel Predator and there was a revolving rack of Les Pauls. There was a card that said $399 above them. I decided to check them out. I had never heard of an Epiphone Les Paul. I'd only seen their acoustic and semi hollow guitars up until then. The first one I picked was a black LP Custom. Everything on the rack was a custom. Either black or white. I plugged into this Marshall Micro Stack that sounded freakin amazing and right away fell in love. This guitar had my name on it. At the time I was a touring guitarist in a metal band that was half hair metal and half Slayer. Yeah. It was interesting, but people loved us. Anyway, the black and red crackle finish Charvel Predator matched well with my BC Rich Warlock, Bitch, Mockingbird and my 3 USA gunslingers. I was trying to find a suitable road worthy axe to get my gunslingers or at least 2 of them off the road. I bought the Charvel cash. The store had a credit line and my young, long haired ass qualified so I bought the Epi LP Custom as well. Dude! I couldn't stop playing that damn thing! I later found an Epi flying V with a Floyd Rose tremelo bridge and after some pickup swapping I had two Epis and a Charvel that I gigged with until Nirvana killed the scene. I had the Epi LP and bought a few MIM Strats and started down the Grunge road until I was forced to cut my hair and get a job. Later on kids and marriage happened and I sold most of my guitars for bills, Christmas, cars, etc. I my 89 LP Custom. Now I have an 09 Epi LP Standard and a 2020 Epi Explorer and love them. I can't wait for the Kirk Hammett Epis coming soon. Hope ya dig my story.

I have owned many Gibson Les Pauls throughout the years. Some pretty expensive ones and a few here and there I got lucky on. I am down to my last one and only one. It's not because of them ever being a problem, they were all great. Playing since I was 15 I'm 51 now so things change for sure. I never cared for an Epiphone to tell you the truth. I just couldn't get past the big oversized ugly headstock to me, so why even try one right? So it never caught my attention. At the end of last year, It caught my attention. The Inspired By Gibson line caught my eye with the new style headstock. Since the end of 2020, I went on an Epiphone craze and tried them all out. It started with a Sheraton II, I know big headstock lol but it was cool with all the mother of pearl inlays very nicely done. The guitar I picked up used, played it, it sounded so good and easy to play like a Gibson ES 335. After that, I was all in on Epiphone. I decided next to get an Epi Les Paul Modern figured, Epi Les Paul SG 61' Epi less Paul 59' Epi ES 335 Figured and last coming tomorrow, an Epi Les Paul black beauty custom oh yeah! I couldn't have done all of that with Gibson. So, I can tell you, Epihpnes makes some great guitars. Thanks for the video.

I am an epi fanboy, I have two of them. Always been a fan of the "clipped ear" headstock. The new headstock seems cool, but I would like it better if it were 10% reduced in size. It looks too large for the body. You can see it how the tuning machines are further away from the split diamond inlay, than on the other headstock. Just my observations, great video as always. Cheers!

I got this a year or so ago as my first serious guitar after using a guitar center Lugana for years and I love it. Threw in a body and neck 59 humbuckers to get some more classic sound out of it (want Gibson 57’s but low on money right now) and oh boy i am in love with this guitar even more now. Next step is a new amp and a peddle and then a few years from now i have my eyes on the wine red Gibson studio les Paul. But thats years away from now.

Still not a headstock design I really dig but it's definitely an improvement over the previous design. Definitely looks better. I could not STAND the previous design and it's one of the primary reasons why I've never had any interest in picking up a cheaper epi custom, even though the LPC is my favorite guitar design without equal. I think ESP/LTD does a much better job doing a 3x3 gibson inspired headstock than epiphone had been doing. Still prefer it over this design. Several years back I bought an Edwards LPC in their version of Alpine white. Gold hardware, duncans with gold covers, headstock design is almost a direct copy of Gibson as well, not your typical Eclipse headstock. I don't think you can find them to buy anymore. They were totally separate to their Eclipse models, basically real copies of a Custom. I may be wrong but I think the model number was E-LP-92 or something similar. I absolutely love that guitar, and it's the closest thing I'm going to get to getting a real custom one day. Just way outside my budget unless I find a heavily used one for a steal that's still got some years left in it.

I had two Gibson LPs since the 70’s…gold top and a custom. Then, in ‘94, my kids bought be an Epi LP (korean) for Father’s Day to have something ‘not valuable’ laying around to beat on. I set it up, changed all the stuff to switchcraft, put Duncan PAFs and a set of NOS ‘58 caps in it. I ended up selling the gibsons because the Epi is my go to, it’s been in studios and stages all over the country and a couple countries. I guard that thing with my life. Picked up a 2016 custom pro in koa a few months ago. It’s a pretty good guitar, but I haven’t had the time work on it yet. Everybody talking about the headstock….that’s the LAST thing I look at when looking at a guitar! Lol the neck, the tone….that’s what makes a great guitar for me
@derekjohnson57204 жыл бұрын
Bought this guitar yesterday, arrived today. Been playing it for a few hours, verdict. Looks stunning, tone and volume pots work brilliant, must be lucky as perfect out of the box. Only thing I can fault it for is the pickups, they sound horrific and will defo be getting replaced. Was playing it threw a katana mk2 100w on the same settings I use for my Vintage V100 les Paul with the wilkinson pups and the wilkinson pups are a lot better sounding. True what they say about the probuckers=mudbuckers. You would think with it being a custom and costing the same as a Epi tribute plus they could at least put the gibson 57's on it like they do on the Tribute plus.

I have the 2018 Alpine White Custom Pro Les Paul & I absolutely love the neck. It's the same profile as the 2020 models & mine has an ebony fretboard as well. I couldn't give a shit about the new "Kalamazoo" headstock - nobody's going to be staring at a headstock anyways, lol. I prefer the coil tapping & phase push-pull pots on the Custom Pro. I turned mine into as close of a Randy Rhoads replica as humanly possible complete with engraved pickguard, gold knobs, gold input jack plate & switch knob and rhythm/treble "poker chip" plus aged (cream colored) lacquer finish. Your "muddy" issue isn't with the pickups, Probuckers are awesome, it's with the Mesa. Mesas are voiced darker than Marshalls. Try it thru a JCM 2000 50 watt DSL! You're welcome! A good trick with Probuckers is to raise your screws a few turns to get more highs if needed, by the way... Great video & sweet playing!

If they'd do a proper teardrop silverburst with an ebony fretboard, they'd probably fly off the walls.

Yes! I’ve never preordered a guitar before but that would make it happen for me.

If it plays well and sounds good I couldn’t less where it’s made. I have a Gibson standard and it’s great but the epi sounds as good. As for ebony it’s fine but rosewood is fine. The only thing I’m a little unsure of is the gold hardware. I wonder what the pots are and if it’s a switch craft switch. Noisy switches are a drag but can be changed. Don’t judge just by looks- please more about what’s underneath the hood.

Yes! This Alpine is really beautiful. Looks like a Gibson, after all. And the most important...this sounds very good. Great guitar man!

honestly I have to say that's probably one of the best demo songs by far on this channel. Keep up the good work!

In case anyone else has an issue with the rosewood fret board and they would rather have the ebony one, you are aware that you can stain a rosewood fret board black and turn it into an ebony one, right? If you were not aware of this, yes, yes you can! I refinished a Les Paul, Gibson model, and the rosewood fret board was just too light colored to match the new darker finish I put on it. So, I got out my trusty can of Rustoleum Ebony stain and went to town on it and it looks OH so much better!! You have to use the STAIN though, not the paint!! it may take a couple of applications to really seal in the black but once you get it you will love it. The stain wipes right off all the inlays so don't worry about that, which is why I say to use the stain and not paint, paint would stick to the inlays!! There is a video on KZbin showing you how to properly do this, so just look up "staining a fretboard Ebony/black" and follow the directions. About that neck issue Hunter, you say it has a slightly "flat" feel to the back? I had that Lee Malia Artisan LP and it is labeled as having a "chunky" neck, but I did not find it chunky at all, and I have medium to smaller sized hands. It too had that flat feeling on the back and to be honest, I LOVED that neck and it is by far my favorite LP style neck!! To me those "60's super slim" necks never feel slim lol.

The only thought I was able to have during this whole video was basically "omg that is one chunky boi". Seriously, how much does that guitar weigh? Looks like it would break your back on stage.

Beyond Elevated how’s your experience with it? I’m thinking of getting one
@MHChang20144 жыл бұрын
@@Uranium_Potato I got mine about a week ago. I love it to death. It's got the signature fat Les Paul tone you'd expect and it sounds great through my Orange Crush Pro. The only thing I've done to it so far is swap out the tuners for Grover rotomatic tulip heads to really bring the whole look together and above all else, this guitar seriously looks the business too 😎

@@MHChang2014 Thanks for the advice! i got the guitar 2 weeks ago, and it's definitely worth every penny!

@@Uranium_Potato i know this is 5 months old but I’ve had one for about a year now (mine is just a studio alpine white not a custom so the only difference is really just in like 2 visual differences) but i love mine to death. I swapped out the pickups for 2 Duncan 59 humbuckers do get more of a classic sound and it made me fall even more in love. I can say though the red wine version might look better but still love my alpine white. It’s my first real guitar purchase because my first one was a birthday gift of some bad guitar center Laguna brand guitar. I mean it wasn’t terrible but definitely would never touch one again

Good review. I got my AW today and it's going back. The bridge is about an inch raised up and action is only 1mm. Frets aren't even and sharp. Paint isn't perfect which I could live with. Looks wise I love it. Appears the neck is way thicker at 22nd fret than where it meets the body. Played lottery and lost (sad). Debating about getting a replacement or buying a Gibson studio/classic. For sure my example is being returned.
