And while I flawlessly played along, never missing a beat or a note, I realized, Steve Vai is an Alien. Holy molly.

Am I wrong to put him on the same level as the iconic and historic classical composers everyone has to learn about in grade school. I mean come on this dude has been innovating the guitar for years and years and his music composition is not only incredible for just the guitar work but everything around it. There isn’t a dull moment in his playing. And now from a creativity standpoint he’s in my eyes untouched by any other guitar player. Idk maybe I’m just a fan boy but this guy blows guitarists minds every year it seems.

I love the "I....I don't know." 9:34. Sums up my understanding of what he was doing there.

Holy mother of guitar!!! Tyler, it’s so good to see you giving your opinion on this, Mr Steve Vai, the supreme master, he is just getting things to a different universe or to another dimensional set of moving pieces, I’m so happy I follow you and I get to see/read your comments. Keep up the great work!!

In a world of exceptional bedroom guitarists, there's still only one Steve Vai - It's like he lay in wait surveying the guitar landscape just so he could re-emerge and remind everybody why he's as revered as he is. Fantatstic.

Saw Vai like 6 ft away back in 98 ( still young ) ..it was definitely an experience.

I agree with your assessment. Mr. Vai is unique and out of this world.

1998-2001 I had a 12 string Chapman Stick (purpleheart) custom made with fretless on the bass strings, fretted on lead guitar side.

First time I saw Steve was on the film with Ralph Machico and Steve jamming out at some bar and Ralph was supposed to beat Steve in a Jam out contest. I could tell Steve was just messing around Ralph..Lol..

Don't forget Michael Hedges who was a predecessor of Andy McKee...Michael definitely did lots of stuff at once in a musical way. His album Aerial Boundaries is a good example.
