I’ve seen a 23,000 mile 2.0 Twinspark up for sale recently but the lowest mileage 2.5 I have seen on the market is 40,000 miles and that’s been imported so currently to my knowledge this is the lowest mileage 2.5 156 in the U.K.

Really lovely example. I also love the early spec cars, love the wood finishes inside and the lack of side skirts. Also love the upholstery, more desirable than leather. I have a 155 with leather, wish it was cloth.

I really do love the 155s! What model have you got ? I also agree about the earlier 156 cars. The later interiors also look a bit tacky in my opinion and the facelift is a bit awkward looking

Subbed! Would love to see updates on this beauty. I have a 2003 1.8TS Sportwagon, first car. It's done 205k km's now (of which i drove 70k in 2.5 years lol). Currently undergoing repairs (needs a new AC compressor). Excellent condition, almost as good as this one. You've inspired me to go look for some OEM floormats. Keep it up, cheers.

The 1.8 is a good motor. No balance belt to worry about and sounds good. I used to have a 2000 year Veloce 1.8. I’ve got a 147 Q2 so expect a video on that soon 💪

Congratulations, a really lovely example. I also took the plunge on a 2.5 last year from somebody I know, but a later Veloce model with the side skirts and spoiler. Which I would have preferred to be without, but you have to grab the nice ones when they turn up (it has 46K). They really are getting rare now. I’m busy working my way through a refresh of the suspension and starting to think about changing the exhaust. It would be great to meet up some day and chopsy all things 156…. 😎

Happy the boot badge is not faded, replacing it with a new one, is not a 5 minute job. I also advise not only replace the belt, but also the camshaft adjuster. I'm driving my third one now in 20 years, and none ever gave me real problems. As long as you treat them like the woman of your life!

Luckily this is in the silly ridiculous tax bracket as it’s older. Goes all very wrong for newer cars tho🤦♂️

Beautiful looking car although cloth seats seem to be rarer than the leather which appeared to be on almost every 156 I've ever seen... To go a whole video without revving that exhaust is hard to forgive however!! The 156 can take 17" alloys no problem and it would look nicer when lowered too. I've had two, a V reg 2.5 which I had for about a year then a 2002 car which was converted into a 3.0 by a previous owner. The larger engine is quite the power plant and it makes the car rapid. Talking an extra 40 bhp and way more useable torque, plus mpg somehow improves. Mine has the facelift interior but I actually prefer the original dials and seats, the Ti leather seats are a bit generic whereas the older Momo leather is a classic design.
@tjshill823 жыл бұрын
I will be recording a driving video in the new year which will include exhaust noise. The 3.0 conversion seems to be a common conversion and I can imagine it gets a real move on with the extra power hike. I’m quite torn on what to do wheel wise. One part of me says leave it as it is the other says teledials or even 17” GTA Speedlines 😂
@Negativvv3 жыл бұрын
The 3.0 conversion is one of the easier ones out there. There's literally no down sides other than possibly devaluing the car if one has torn out a perfectly good 2.5 as it won't be "original" anymore. The GTA teledials only really suit a GTA I think but plenty fit them to regular 156. The GTV teledials look great as they're just the 16" ones but bigger however I think they have slightly different offset. Personally I'd stick a set of 16" teledials after the suspension, I liked the look of them on my car but only went up to 17" as they were a bit weedy in there. Don't fit 18" as they ruin the ride. Saying that, I wager the standard suspension and smaller alloys ride really well. My car on Eibach springs, Koni shocks, 17' and polybushes is still a comfortable cruiser. Depending on the sort of driving you do, it might even be worth keeping the setup as it is.
@tjshill823 жыл бұрын
@@Negativvv I do like cars to handle well. Previously on my GT I ran the B12 set up and Eibach roll bars. This was quite aggressive with the 18 inch alloys. I’m actually thinking of Bilstein shocks but with OE sport pack springs for this car. That means it will be better than current and not be to aggressive. As for the engine I will not be changing it mainly because it’s such low mileage. I wouldn’t say no to a 156 SW 3.0 conversion though

Taking guesses on its BTG time yet? What brand is the sports suspension? Bilstein and Eibach?

Hi Tom, really nice car! I recently bought a 1998 V6 with 95000km on the clock in really good condition, so appreciated your video! My car, like yours, is 100% original. I like it that way but have been considering exactly the same upgrades as you; the 16" teledials, sports suspension and the wizard exhaust. How do you find the wizard exhaust? Do you have the middle silencer or without? From what I have seen on youtube it sounds great but I am thinking that it may be too loud to match the stock look of the car? //Henrik
