Dave is probably the most casually, effortlessly funny person I can think of. His one-off comments and jokes just come out like breathing for him.

I completely agree... Many comedians are funny doing their routines, but when they get on a podcast, they aren't as funny (or, seem like they are always trying too hard). Dave is naturally funny on everything.

I watched Crowder occasionally to hear his take on current issues. He brought Dave on and I found myself watching the show more often mostly for Dave. I loved when Dave would host! He was like the super fun substitute teacher when he hosted. Crowder would return and I'm like "meh". Theres something about him thats just so lovable, you really root for this guy!

His (Dave Landau) dad died at 16, and his mom committed suicide. I never knew that both of them have had relatives who committed suicide. With Glenn, it's his mom as well, right around that age. They find dark forms of humor to deal with these horrible things life throws at you.

I think the idea of saying its a coping mechanism is a cope ...in the sense that one says that because its too far beyond the pale for ones more delicate sensibilities, so they label it as such to distance themselves admitting its resonance. Its less coping and more an organically derived honest, visceral, fuller perspective, and not actually a 'mechanism' at all.

My step dad was an agent orange vet. Thankful for the guys who went before him because dad did get some extra medical help and someone who could pull together al of his issues. It's really sad to me people are saying "Crowder has fallen off the map" as if he's been gone for a long time. He takes a monthish long break every year. It's been what 2 months and hes back in 7 days. It's not "falling off" it was taking a moment to build something new. Crowder will be back and I am hoping better than ever. My favorite part was when his dad knocked him out and when he woke up, the police officer said, he’s awake in case you want to hit him again! I love this because back then the entire community was involved in raising kids and this taught children to respect and behave. Kids today respect no one, not their parents or the law!
