I feel like (at least on quest) contractors has had a large role in the death of Pavlov shack because contractors is cross compatible on quest and pc while Pavlov is spilt between two versions.

Bro its not cross compatibility, its the fact that pavlov has 0 content without mods, and mods are only available to pc players. Anyone on quest just rots on the same like 4 maps with the same shitty guns. Meanwhile contractors has a thriving modding community with tf2, battlefront, ww1, titanfall, etc mods with maps, guns, and even vehicles. All this is available in game with an easy download when you enter a match with mods, or if you directly download from the mod page in game

Also, not to mention contractors also has crossbuy support. So VR players that switch from quest to PC (as long as they are still using oculus) can play the PC version without having to pay extra, unlike pavlov

I used to play pavlov a lot with my friend, however that workshop overhaul removed all of my codz maps mods and we could no longer play any of the old call of duty zombies maps, we stopped playing the game shortly after since the regular zombies from pavlov isn't all that great, it isn't too late for them to make a change about what is going on and make amends to it though, we'll just have to see how it plays out for this game.

Pavlov was one of my favorite games for PCVR, but it became a ghost town. It was very difficult to find a lobby with a good amount of players. Then I tried Pavlov Shack and it was a big graphics downgrade, too many kids and I got tired of playing the same maps. Then I played contractors and it's such a big improvement coming from Pavlov. It has better graphics, great mods, more players, modern UI, etc.

Contractors was already becoming the new Pavlov, this just put the nail in the coffin. Pavlov doesn't offer much over contractors, certainly not without all of the years worth of community game modes(mods). Despite their differences they are overall able to achieve roughly the same experience, except one (Contractors) is more modern.

when i play pavlov i used to main play push but now during peak hours im luckly to get maybe a 12 player lobby. the zombie escape gamemode mod is really really fun but that can only really last so long as push has unlimited possibilities for the most part. luckely i got contracters in a vr game bundle and il probably give it a try today and see how i like it.

from what i read i really need to try contractors i guess. Last months i was only grinding Ghost of tabor. However Pavlov always felt dead to me (as a PCVR only player). I was looking for the real Counterstrike Feeling. Most of the serves tend to be these "fun" modes it seems people enjoy alot more. I am not into TTT or Push or anything. I was always looking for the clean SND Dust 2 experience. After they droped the UE5 Update i got back and what can i say. The servers seem to be fuller than ever before as we have now the PSVR2 guys making up 50+% of the servers. For me who looking for the cleaner CS experience it felt like a real improvement.. There is just one thing missing what probaby would make Pavlov skyrocketing. A real competive matchmaking mode with ranks. I cant imagine that it is so hard to implement this. If i imagine Counterstrike would only exist of Public servers i would probably have less then 50h playtime. Its the match making and ranking, the feeling to grind for something and actually the need to get goot that made the game for me since 1.6. I hope Pavlov will get that. However the Gunplay and handling just feels so insane smooth. The graphics are awesome (for VR). I cant imagine contractors to be better - but i will test it ;)..

honestly its a valid metaphor for vr in its entirety. people just arent into it, the rona bubble popped and there werent any titles that came out to keep those people in. pretty sure contractors is a done deal with most of their team working on contractors showdown, the br game that came out and is a janky mess. they took what they learned and put it into a new title. im sure they will do the same again for a contractors 2 with psvr/mobile support. showdown wont make it to psvr either, its a 60 person br game. pavlov was one of my first loves in vr, its just plagued with the same virus that the rest of the good vr games are. devs dont do enough and they live and die by player created content or the devs do regular small updates but never do anything monumentally mindblowing to captivate creators or players to begin with. there are just not enough people to support these games and franchises in vr to keep a game relevant for more than a month or so. HLAlex did just because it was really the 1st and only AAA type game weve ever got and they literally gave it away with every index sold since day 1.

Pavlov is pretty dead, yeah.. and the update didnt help that much becaus in reason of all the performance issues and launching issues, people stopped playing. i have to say tho, every weekend at least ONE push map is full and we get to play pavlov at its maximum. I have Contractors on Quest, but having played Pavlov Shack for half a year, Pavlov PC for another half and then Pavlov PSVR2 for about two, I can't go back. Contractors isn't... as realistic. The gun play is great, don't get me wrong, but there's something about the pacing of Pavlov that's always, ALWAYS kept me on my toes. It was to the point I talked to myself out loud in public games! Contractors isn't as... satisfying. Especially with kills. Pavlov has its unique feeling. You KNOW when you get a gruesome kill, while in Contractors, it's just not the same. Headshots don't feel as significant, despite the damage being higher. It's the little things that help keep me tied to Pavlov

I'll say this tho, pavlov with it's dedicated servers feels way better to play casually compared to contractors. The peer to peer in contractors is so hit or miss that it can feel like a chore to find someone hosting a game near your region so your ping isn't completely dogshit. And then on top of that, the hosts leave constantly and bicker with the players about what mode or map to play next.

Ofc this would never happen but in the end I feel like when it comes to VR, there can only be one or two popular multiplayer games out at a time because the market is just too small (and spread out across timezones).

@@DownloadableContent your index is and everything is fine It's an issue we all have thanks to the OpenXR plugin There's a delay between the communication for some reason I believe that's why B&S also has Input for SteamVR and OpenXR separately Unfortunately, the SteamVR plugin is not yet made for UE5, so they had to switch Steam to OpenXR as well
