You can shoot a 40gr slug with that FX IMPACT and really accurate. Change the barrel to a 700mm or 800mm and you're good to go. Also, in the compact Impact one you have a 21gr or 23gr at 1000fps does the job well up to medium game.

First off great video! Its always nice to see a fellow boy from KY making it happen. 18.13 grain is the weight by the way other countries don't use decimals a lot of the time they just use a comma so 18,13 means they are 18.13 grains. It appears to be an FX Impact M3 Compact so I'm assuming it probably has the .22 1:24 twist 500mm Superior liner which is mostly meant for lighter ammo like your pellets or you can shoot the FX hybrids which are happy medium between pellets and slugs with a hollow point deep taper design at 22 grains in .22 you'll have a significant rise in velocity/power fantastic consistency and the ability for amazing accuracy and once you open up that can of worms you won't be able to turn back it is addicting. And then you'll be wanting to move up to different calibers and get the superior heavy slug liner which will have a faster twist rate like a 500-600 or 700 mm .22 with a 1:16 twist up to the 800 mm Superior heavy liner in .22 with a twist rate of 1:14 of course you can choose to go up in caliber such as .25 .30 or .357/9 mm and the rabbit hole only deepens from there and that's just the FX world.

I have FOND memories of whacking cans full of water at 40+ yards (all up hill too) with a break barrel .177 when I was a kid, the massive arc and wind drift was so satisfying it still makes me giddy. PCPs were far too expensive back then and I couldn't get a .22 pellet gun because 'I already have one and don't need another' lol. But on a property at the very corner of the neighborhood with a larger yard it was perfect. Noisy, sure, but it never really upset anyone and it was quiet enough for my parents to not care if it did. I had some pump guns too, but the old school break barrel was best. I would pour four or five copper BBs down the barrel for squirrel... never had a single one last more than a twitch

The FX Impact is a great rifle and versatile platform that you can set-up for different hunting and pesting situations. You can set it up for shooting pest birds in and around buildings where your .22 rimfires would be too dangerous or cause damage. With the tune you have for the .22 cal. compact shooting the 18 grain jsbs I would not hesitate shooting birds off of power lines. The 18 grain pellet is only going to carry about 300 to 400 yards with little energy left compared to your .22 rimfire going over a mile. You can also change calibers and tune your rifle from about 12 fpe up to over 100 fpe to suit your situation. You can also shoot slugs but these pcp barrels has a more pronounced harmonic cycle. Most people try to tune for accuracy just using velocity and different weight of slugs and weights of moderators installed on the end. The easy way to get accuracy is to install the FX or Eagle Vision harmonic tuner and adjust it for the best accuracy. I see Utah Airguns added a aftermarket top rail and bottom rail adding more weight and bulk. If you are going to shoot just pellets or light slugs say under 23 grains you could put back on the factory rails and trigger guard. There is a big learning curve with the FX Impact and pcp rifles so plan to watch some KZbin channels to get educated. I hope you have a place to get your air tank filled. If not you would be better off having one of the small portable compressors that run off of AC or DC car batteries. For seeing what the FX rifles are capable of there some good channels like 68 Whiskey, Air-Hunter Gerhard, Air Tac Hunting and AirArmsHuntingSA to mention a few.
@Peter-tb3pq3 ай бұрын
@@williamr9537 I like your bullshit. The fact of the matter is those guns will never touch 100 foot pounds of energy. Here’s another fact they only sold well because of Covid because people had money that wasn’t theirs and they were making a good amount of what they normally did so they bought those guns. Now the FX impact nobody wants. And the last four air rifles that affects designed are all flops. And if you watch air, Hunter, Girard, his video on the DRS pro precision. He shows everybody how that gun shoots two groups that’s right to PO shift. There’s one group that’s an inch and a half that has 10 rounds through it and then there’s another inch and a half group about an inch away from the other inch and a half group with three rounds in it because you get a flyer every four rounds and air, Hunter Girard tries to say that that is an exceptional group. You must be so dense that you don’t realize how shitty your gun shoots. But on the other hand, I just think you’re one of those affects douches that affects hires to post bullshit. And in case you haven’t heard, there are going to drop down to 1/3 of their manufacturing. They already had massive layoffs. And you know that they closed affect USA. They’re trying to blame all their hardship on FX USA. Well you know what I say I live in the US. So they could take their crap guns keep them in the wrong crap country. And the fact is a lot of the parts on those airguns comes right from China

Hey Kendall I watched this video because I'm looking into that exact air gun set up, one of the most important things about this air gun vs a .22 is that FX has several interchangeable barrels to make it great for hunting different size critters. .177 .22 .25. 30. 35 as I recall. On top of that you can go 600,700 or 800 mm barrels. I'm old school and like traditional firearms but I'm excited to buy a new FX air gun. Good luck to you.
