Dosa certainly is one of the best breakfasts ever!!! I had it back in Malaysia for the first time in 2017 and ever since then I’ve been hunting it down anywhere I could find it! Even in far north Scotland in Inverness we managed to find some and the owners loved seeing my then two year old devouring the whole thing! I’ve had it in many countries but never India! I can’t wait to try it there some day

That is an amazing story. :-) I love it!!! Even in northern Scotland, that’s great, and also shows how Indian people have sent all the best flavors just around the world.

Good evening dear Joel - Yet another Indian food vlog and has to be awesome 👍 Beautiful property where you had been staying . Hello to Ebbin and the crew 👋 Good snippet of throw back time in 2020 when you tasted a different kind of Dosa 👍 Great to kick start your day with Vinayaka Mylari Dosa ( THE OG for this kind of Dosa ) which has been dishing out the Mylari Dosa for more than 9 decades . Lovely to see the chefs at work 👌 Time to start with the soft and succulent Idli with a great combo of Chutney and Palya ( Sabzi ) . It’s Mylari Dosa and time to savour the legendary Dosa ( with Palya ) with a generous dollop of in-house butter and coconut chutney 😋😋 Dosa and Indli are indeed one of our Staple breakfast in Southern India 👍 Great articulation of the dish in terms of taste , texture and some fine nuances 👌 The meal is not complete without a dessert; Dumroot Halwa ( Ashgourd Halwa ) . So happy that you thoroughly enjoyed the Mylari Dosa and Idli 👌👌 Take care , have a wonderful evening and God bless 😇 Loads of love and respect 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️

Mysore was like an oasis when I visited in 2008. I rode my bicycle across from Chennai down and across the ghats. Breakfast everyday was dosa and idli parcels for lunch on the road. Thanks for taking me back. The zoo was particularly good. They had an Asian elephant and an African elephant right next to each other!
@JoelsTastyRide10 ай бұрын
Brenton, no wayyyy. Ahh man, exploring this area on a bicycle would be totally crazy!! Both intense (on the roads), and so rewarding (for all the people you must have met!). Everyday idli dosa sounds like a perfect way to start any ride, oh man. Thanks for the message today, Im really happy to imagine you riding through such a part of India...

Well, as to your question, the 5 of us meeting all together for the first time would have been many, many years after the first time I met the others (because Micah is only 6 years old :) but ok, seriously, Mark and I are friends from school. We've been on quite a few trips together, and look how lucky that the opportunities for MORE still continue today!

Idli and Dosa with Sambar and Coconut Chutney is a very nutritious, balanced and tasty breakfast. You get the protein from pulses(sambar), carbohydrates from the rice, fibre and roughage from vegetables and chutney. What's even more interesting is, Idli is made without oil and Dosa is made by sprinkling a few drops of oil😊. So, yeah, the healthiest breakfast options 😊

Masala dosa originated in the state of Karnataka.. . Dosas are supposed to slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside..how you see here... The dosas you get in western countries / northern India are extremely crispy and thin with no fluffiness..and these are not authentic...

in Mumbai it transforms into dosa😂 quiet long pronunciation journey.
@shankargopal41509 ай бұрын
In Hindi it works as follows: When you ladle the batter on the gridle it makes a "saiii" kind of sound. Once more when you turn the dosa over. Two "Saii" sounds = Do(two in Hindi) "Saii" = Dosai = Dosa
@okay99069 ай бұрын
*...Idli and Dosa are around 1500 to 2000 years old. It's mention is present in Tamil sangam literatures and in 1000 years old Hale-kannada literature. So it's much older than hindi language and mumbai city, which are preterm neonatal babies. Idli, Dosa, Upma, Pongal, Sambar, Chutney are all deformed words of Tamil only.* Sambar - from the Tamil word Chambaram. Rasam - from the Tamil word Irasam. Extraxt/Juice. Upma - from Uppu + Mavu - Salt + Flour. Idli - from Ittu + avi. And from Hale-Kannada language Iddelige. Chutney - immediately @ made fresh. Quick. Pongal - to boil, overflow. Soup - from Tamil word Souppu. சூப்பு @ சப்பு.
