As an old musician I’ve been listening to music since the 1960s and I find this to be one of the best concept albums ever recorded. The music and lyrics have such a textural feel and foreboding that just can’t be ignored. Unbelievably conceived and executed by children, my favorite body of work by them.

@gerstelbАй бұрын
Although Pau was probably the main creative force behind most of QOTMS, Ale came up with the bass riff that’s the basis for “Dust to Dust” when she was about 11. The Spanish section in “Dust to Dust” is a preacher speaking about rejecting darkness and achieving salvation. You’ll notice that the Mexico City crowd knows the whole speech, and drowns out the backing track (which is done by their manager). Live, I really think “Dust to Dust” is a showcase for Pau. She sings a few other songs, like “23” and “Narcisista,” but D2D is a full-on belt from beginning to end, and all the while she’s beating those drums like they owe her money. It wasn’t the first song from The Warning that I liked (that was “Choke”) but it was my introduction to Powerhouse Pau, and it’s been on my top 5 list from them ever since.

Their heaviest song is the title track QOTMS. Anyway, I'm sure you're going to hear this a lot, but if you're going to experience this ambitious concept album, you need to react to the Lunario concert in which the album is played in full. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4fGmohpnLKAi7ssi=Y0z5PXqf97K8XEXc It's a better representation of the band's sound than the studio version. Every song is incredible, as usual with The Warning.

@ancltubeАй бұрын
Yes, this is _the_ way of experience the QOTMS album and some of the best of their earlier songs. After this you just have to watch the music videos from the XXI Century Blood album, their two TedX talks from 2016 and 2017 (both of them, must watch), all the covers they have made. And then the songs from their latest album, but when you get here the recording from the coming Mexico City concerts (in Februari) is probably released, and most likely yet another album. You will not run out of good material from them with only one song per week ...
@thontorАй бұрын
The album both of these songs are from is a concept album that tells the story of a young woman’s descent into obsession, murder, and madness. Dany was only 18, Pau 16, and Ale 13 when this album was released. Likely younger when it was composed. Dust to Dust, the opening track and prologue, introduces the cyclical nature of the story. The protagonist, speaking from beyond the grave, warns about the fragility of life and how easily things can spiral out of control. The song sets the tone for the album, hinting at the inevitable tragedy of her actions. Dull Knives (Cut Better), the 9th track from Chapter 3, depicts the protagonist’s despair as her darker side gains control. Overwhelmed by pain and self-loathing, she struggles against herself but finds no escape. The imagery of dull knives cutting better symbolizes her loss of hope and the depth of her internal battle.
@arctic_hazeАй бұрын
"Likely younger when it was composed. ". Yes, likely. Unless they used a time machine.
@thontorАй бұрын
@@arctic_haze It depends on how fast they composed the songs. Other than Dull Knives, none of the songs were released or played live before October 2018. Dull Knives was first performed in January of 2018 when Dany was 17 and Pau was 15 so that is the only song that we know for sure was composed when they were younger.

You absolutely MUST react to the whole QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE album! Commonly referred to as QOTMS, it’s an incredible concept album written by TEENAGERS! The definitive concert is QOTMS, Live at Lunario-performed in 2018. It’s more raw, and they are t as polished as they are now, but it’s phenomenal watching Dany slowly transform into a psychotic lunatic! It’s where we first get to see “Dany Face”-she’s a master at expressing herself without saying a word! Before you react to it, You should Google “THE WARNING’S QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE MEANING”. You will find a googledoc by @Timberwolf that gives a great synopsis of each song, with links to them in order. The story, which is divided into chapters, will make much more sense to you. Whether you react to all of it at once, or a song a week, or a Chapter per week, we will be right there with you!

While most of their songs have certain darker vibe, this album is easily their darkest (at least thus far). It is definitely my favorite album; the second place is KMF I think. And to think QOTMS was crafted before any of them were even the age of graduating high school. Ale made the bass line for "Dust to Dust" when she was 11 years old, I believe. A concept album on their second time out, QOTMS tells a tale of a young woman's decent from obsession to madness and murder. It is important to listen to it in order, if you want to react to it, because then you hear the whole story.

Hola amigo. The Warning nos une.
