The reason I havent taken to using teams channels to communicate is that it doesnt notify people unless you tag them. Once in a while I go look at the teams and notice i've missed messages and half of those are someone adding a new folder or something uninteresting.

We feel what you articulated is one of the major blockers for people. We would encourage users to understand how notifications work so they are properly tagging people and how they can customize notifications to work for them. We also wish @microsoft would make a few small improvements that would make this WAY better. For example, if the Teams application icon on the right had a notification bubble of some sort when you had unread messages in Channels you have not hidden. Another one is defaulting to not posting messages in the channel when users do things like "add a tab".

Agreed. This is also a major hurdle for us. Half the time I send a message in a team (and not a direct message), it is overlooked by half the staff.

Same here. We've been struggling with email chains and individual team members copying, editing and then sharing duplicate versions of documents. Teams channels, combined with loop (adding a loop workspace for each separate channel on a tab) is proving to be very effective. A single source of truth, which can be edited in multiple places (loop) is a life saver. One of our challenges has always been scrabbling around trying to recover information when project members moving on to pastures new.

Thank you for the informative video. I would be interested in the topic of task management within teams/outlook. I find Microsoft has too many tools and it is sometimes confusing or challenging to delegate tasks to others. For example, if I get an email, I can forward it and ask for it to be done, but I can’t add it as a task to a planner without downloading it and uploading it. I can, however, add the email directly to my todo. I’m not sure if it’s a user error (me) or the products aren’t fully thought out.

That's true, but the point of this discussion is that if that email was somebody asking for something to be done, then it shouldn't have been issued solely as an email in the first place. The abundance of tools that Microsoft has created are underutilized because the culture of person-based communication is so slow to change in so many organizations.

Emily gets it! We were plagued by an email support inbox for a long time, it was a nightmare. We built an app/form instead that automatically integrates with our task management and it's a night-and-day difference.

@@BulbDigital I am so interested in this. This is where I am struggling in my business, but I don't even know where to start! I have been trying for years to make changes but there is always some roadblock.

I've been using Teams for over a tear and have yet to discover any significant value in using it

That's super common unfortunately - we're firm believers that it's because people default to the person-based approach instead of topic-based.

the music went on too long. I nearly stopped watching as it was too loud. Then it went off so i carried on watching.
