I am ordering one right away. I raced motocross years ago and am accustomed to normal sized helmets. MTB helmets in general are little more than skull caps that I’m just not that comfortable with.

This helmet is long overdue in the incredibly faster pace of trail and enduro bikes. Most trail and enduro bikes are way faster than downhill bikes a couple of years ago and here we still wearing lycra designed helmets offering limited protection. I've hit a tree full blown on my downhill bike 8 years ago side on and knocked out clean. My current bikes GT Sensor upgraded to 160mm fork is way quicker than that downhill bike. Glad to see Fox creating a solution for todays trail rider and enduro rider. Great review thanks

Another good camera angle mount is with the chest which also maximize aero flow on those high end bikes ;)

Heya thanks for the review, I have this helmet and it is simply amazing, the fact the negatives are gopro mounting points is a non issue, however I to experienced this issue and purchased some custom 3D printed gopro mounts for the top and under side of the beak of the helmet. Great job FOX, the helmet could be improved with the inclusion MIPS or FI, more colour ways, and FOX providing a helmet blank wrap file and making this open source, this way you could create a custom helmet sticker to make the helmet look even more awesome.

Just use a gopro sticky mount and use 2 articulated joints. That way you can make it appear level on camera. I did this on a Shoei motorcycle helmet that had a similar visor. So just to clarify. The first joint goes back and forward and the second joint goes left and right.

Really not sure boss. I can only guess that it will have to be hotter then the normal less coverage type of helmets. I can say that it is very well vented so I think that it will at least be cooler then other helmets of this style.

*Works great. I especially like the grinding / cutting mode and the off mode⛑️ **allabout.wiki/Pink** Be sure to turn it back to welding mode before striking an arc, or else - flash burn. . .The only down side is the head band. Is is cheap, but I understand standard head bands will fit, so I will probably upgrade the head band.I had an old self darkening hood that worked, but I thought I was going blind because I could not see the puddle.*

this is not for me, cus I am full face only now, I love the Dual ring buckle, it keeps it secure, not going out of adjustment, and is easy to use. the weight of a helmet is something you eventually get used to my 1100 helmet feels light now. and the too firm mechanical brakes feel light now, your body adapts, eventually over time. but sure things like this can be quite of a difference from the start. But the Fox Pro Carbon was flawed, by I read the new is improved many ways, some claim the pads are improved to, the ones on 2016 model were absurd. I am skeptic towards magnetic buckles, I've seen pics on instagram a female downhill racer crash sponsored by Leatt, the helmet came off on impact, or at least almost off, don't remember exactly, can't find that pic maybe i saved it, what I am afraid of is the strap getting loose, the buckle getting un-done on a hard impact.

4:56 it's not fox that just calls it that, this is a brand name Fidlock is a brand, they make magnetic fastening devices, including magnetic bottle mounting, and these buckles, and other stuff. so nothing wrong there, it's not a name for the sake of having a unique name for it. www.fidlock.com/en/

EPS liner has nothing to do with the pads, its the inside mould frame of the helmet. Open Face helmets are all helmets apart from the full face, so a XC helmet and a trail helmet are all Oen Face.

Any idea why they have men and women helmets? Shouldn't this be about the size of the head and not about one's sex?
@rgmtb4 жыл бұрын
I actually think it is about size and the idea is that a women's head is smaller then a mans. I guess they could have a chart with something like men's sm = woman's med? Certainly other products do need to be designed specificaly for a women, but the helmet should be pretty simple to share.
