Happy Birthday! Nice new look :) I have about 25% of my listings as Top Rated Plus. I've been doing it for 6 months at least and I haven't noticed an uptick in returns for those listings. Cheers, Julien

@@TipoftheMittFlips You are welcome. I believe you just need to be top rated, and then have one day handling and free returns for the listings you want to be marked as Top Rated Plus. No Free shipping needed. Cheers, Julien.

Happy Birthday Drew!! And I agree with you about your birthday. I have my kids, husband, and holidays every month from Aug to Jan. Every month. So by the time my bday hits in April, I am OVER any type of fuss or cake or any of that. I’m exhausted after all the parties and decor and whatnot from Aug to Jan. I just want peace. 😂 Like the new look, btw!

Happy Birthday Drew. I was a top rated plus seller back when ebay gave 20% on FVF. It was barely enough to buy a hamburger each month. When they dropped that to 10% and added free 30 day returns, I decided it wasn't worth it. I am still a top rated seller with 1-day handling and 30 day returns (but NOT free 30 day returns). I don't get many returns, and I should probably add the free returns, but since my sales are low (no one "needs" what I am selling) I just don't think the meager savings are worth it.
@TipoftheMittFlips2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Your right there, running the numbers it would be barely worth it for me right now. Im about to start trying just about anything though, its like somebody turned the faucet off on my sales. (im guessing mostly my own fault for turning off promoted listing)

I use free returns and barely have any returns myself so it helps having the customer see you are willing to offer free returns. Gives them a piece of mind and shows your credibility and confidence that it won't need to be returned anyways. Most of the time, I just add the shipping costs to the item I am selling and list them as Free Shipping and Returns. It hasn't failed me yet. If something was expensive to ship out, usually I'll either offer a discount or just let them keep the item if there are any issues. Luckily, I haven't been scammed yet. I have had one try to scam me by breaking an item because of Buyer's Remorse so they can get a full refund. I offered partial so it covered most of my loss. They were unhappy with an antique sewing machine even after I brought a brand new $20 motor for it. They said it was too small. 1 Day later they said it arrived broken. When it came back, the ENTIRE case and sewing machine was absolutely busted. It wasn't from the shipping either because they would have seen that damage immediately. The cost of return shipping isn't worth the return anyways. Unless, it is something super expensive where I know I can resell it and still make profit off of it. This machine was a total loss. Instead of losing over 170 bucks, I walked away and pretty much broke even. May have taken a 10 buck loss but not bad. Luckily, I have the greatest customer's anyone could ask for lol.

@@TipoftheMittFlips The promoted listings help me out immensely. Adds to the fees but the ROI is still there and now we have one more item off our fully loaded shelves lol. Also, turning on charities helps out too. It is a great cause and not only helps us but the people in need so it makes it very rewarding. I usually throw 10% of the sale to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. If you are a thrifter like me, we aren't only helping out our own community, but other Non-Profits as well.

I like your set up bro. Nice organization. I have a 20×18 polebarn with items spread out everywhere. I know where everything is but it'd be better if everything was organized. Where do you put your packing materials? Mine are all thrown in one spot. Boxes, Peanuts, Air Pockets, Packing Paper, and ect are just thrown in one spot lol. Hard to take the time to even organize mine with how busy Summer's are. Awesome you were able to turn it into a full time job. Alot of work but totally worth it. The ROI is insane compared to 99% of other businesses.

I had the same thought about top rated plus basically more so because of the 30 day returns. In the end I adapted to Ebay's push for it, and it's worked out. Let's be honest rarely does Ebay take the side of seller. In that sense I figured it didn't matter anyways if you lose cases and money based upon the sites preference to customers. I get why they do it, but it would be nice for more protections or insurance like 50% they do now to at least to cover seller cogs. Nice vid!
@TipoftheMittFlips2 жыл бұрын
For sure the protections from PayPal were much better than eBay manage payments

It's not worth it if you are not selling premium stuff.. For used stuff, people are buying used because they don't want to spend too much. For you to maintain your top rated seller you invest time and money, but sellers will just search and get cheaper item from the next person who is not going all top rated shenanigans and selling cheap.. So for sellers like this I'll say, just do everything to keep your cost low to stay competitive..
@TheOfficialMikeRoot2 жыл бұрын
The perk is double the insurance which isn't much. Especially since most of my stuff is packed like Fort Knox. I usually find obscure items that get me on the first page anyways so the Top Rated Seller is overrated to get you to try to sell even more for Ebay. More sales equals more fees lol.

Free returns on the seller is a crappy requirement for TR+. Most reputable websites don't even offer that unless something's wrong with the item, and with eBay that scenario would be free returns anyway. If someone does qualify for TR+, why not give them the measly 10% off fees. Which is only 10% off whatever the 13.33% fee comes to. Pennies for the average person. There's no appreciation for the seller and I'm hearing more and more people finding other ways to sell their items.
@TipoftheMittFlips Жыл бұрын
There is a definite decline in appreciation for sellers. Check out my live on Monday this will be the main taking point, but I’ve heard from a lot of sellers that having free shipping hasn’t increased their return rate.
