Jared Leto is one of the main reasons Tron 3 is a reality. He's been fighting for years to make this movie, even when the project was known as Tron: Ascension and Kosinski was intended to direct it. I know why Leto concers the fan but he is not a bad actor and I think we should give him the chance or at least say thank you for his support to the franchise and being a part of making Tron 3 a reality.

@@rkd6-3.76 this is the thing right i get what you're saying but just because one person has a passion idea, it doesn't always mean that idea is exactly going to be great. there have been many instances where a Actor has wanted and fought to get a certain story of their's or a friend's or whoever, a project only they believe in, made into a movie; and it's took them years to turn it into a reality and when they've finally brought that project into fruition and the movie is made and comes out it ends up a big flop. Especially if it's a "Passion Project" of that specific Actor, where they've either the maoin star and/or it's all about them, or the movie itself evolves around them. Sorry but as talented a Actor Jared Leto is, his track recent of recent movies has not entirely been stellar. His Morbius was cheesy, and his Joker from the "Snyderverse" was weird AF. I gotta tell you man, IF Jared truly CARED about the tron franchise, he would be focused on making sure the legacy characters of Bruce Boxlietter's titular hero "tron", Jeff Bridges "Flynn" and his son Garrett Headland's "Sam Flynn" would have prominent roles, and ensure his tron ares movie is consistent to those previous tron films. So while YOU may say Jared Leto has fought to make his "Ares" tron movie happen, what about him fighting for those legacy characters that made the tron franchise what it is!? Namely Flynn and tron?? Even Sam and Qurra were cool characters that fans embraced, and who should really be the ones taking this franchise forward because they're who Legacy ended with and basically set up for future stories; i mean even if it means recasting if those original actors don't want to reprise those roles. So i'm sorry dude but no fan is thanking Jared Leto for his efforts, because Leto's goals and aspirations where the tron franchise is concerning seem very SELF-SERVING.

I share many of your concerns, and I'd add that Disney will likely make TR3N woke-AF, especially considering the casting of the SJW who espoused Star Wars Acolyte. I've only ever seen (or heard of) Jared Leto in sinister roles: Joker in Suicide Squad, and his role in Blade Runner 2049 (a quite forgettable role amidst an otherwise great film), and hearing the criticisms regarding his role as Morbius. Leto's presence and the lack of Joe Kosinski (Director) and Daft Punk (music), and the lack of legacy actors from the first two films were initially enough to turn me off from wanting a TR3N. I was very much looking forward to seeing an invasion of the computer world into the real world in a third Tron film. I have a feeling that isn't going to happen. Whatever TR3N becomes now, I am concerned that it will be more about "The Message" than carrying on the legacy of the first two films. To me, Tron Legacy and John Carter were the last good Disney films. Tron Legacy is my favorite Disney live action film.

I was there to experience the original Tron in theaters. And I'm glad that Legacy brought in a whole new generation of new fans into that world. I have only seen a couple of episodes of Uprising and lots of clips but that series was remarkable as well. But, honestly, it's been too long. If they're not going to have any of the actors from Legacy then I feel a third film would be a bad idea. If they had jumped on this by maybe 2016 or 2018 everything would have held together. But sadly, they've waited too long and I expect anything they put together would be poorly done.

It been great to see Daft Punk reunite for a Tron 3 sound track behind Kosinski's director's chair. ... Another opportunity Disney missed for this movie is incorporating the very issue that caused the band to break up--the increasing intersection between humans and technology. I know it is a common theme in Sci-Fi and Cyberpunk films. But, I'm sure Tron fans would appreciate their insights on point in the film.

Honestly, at this point, I'm so hopeful for an amazing movie, I'm still going to watch Tron 3 in theaters, just because of how much love I have for the Tron: Legacy film. It's just that Disney has completely crumbled, Daft Punk is gone, they lost an incredible director, and most of the original cast might not be in the movie...I really want to be hopeful but I fear I might reach the same conclusion I had when I anticipated "Jurassic World Dominion" to be incredibly good...only for it to be a total flop. I just PRAY that this next movie has LEGENDARY effects, plot, soundtrack, and emotion; I'm talking about Inception and Interstellar type stuff. Because even if a lot of the original assets are missing, I still think I'd love the movie if the overall story brings an awe-inspiring weight and depth that makes me leave the theater feeling like a main character (that's when a movie is good, when it inspires you for absolutely no reason at all).

At this point i think Disney are really kind of screwed, so many of their big franchises have just slipped through their fingers because they either turn them into woke tripe, or they subvert, twist and change them up so much from the original source material of what they used to be that they're just not recognizable anymore. Okay so they've basically live-action remade ALL their Walt Disney Animated Classics by now. Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Willow are done. Haunted Mansion is dead, the Pirates of the Caribbean basically on life-support, tron is just dead at this point cause they're obviously going with that stupid script that had been floating around for years. Out of the four writers, one wrote Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (terrible Harry Potter fan fiction that most of the fandom pretends doesn't exist) and one wrote Eragon, one of the worst book to movie adaptions of all time, which has a 13% score on Rotten Tomatoes and ruined one of my favorite books when it came out. That added with the fact that it's directed by the guy who ruined Maleficent and Pirates of the Caribbean for me (though I blame the writers more than the director) and the fact Jared Leto, who for some reason hasn't been cancelled, I don't have any hope for this being good. Just give me more seasons of Tron Uprising. Or a continuation of Tron Legacy. Or...like anything that isn't what we're getting.

So, a number of points to make - I'll be very brief with each point. First - the observations in this clip about the reasons for skepticism are on point. Disney is a proven woke disaster befalling anything it touches and is all about "the message" even at the expense of customer satisfaction or profits. Second - even in terms of things other than Disney properties, Hollywood writers rooms are now DEI infested cesspools of no talent hacks who were only hired to meet diversity quotas and with no regard to any writing ability, and I shudder to think how awful the final Tron 3 script might be. Third - The casting is indeed suspect. Jared Leto should be ushered out of the studio, Turner-Smith is an idiot maybe only a rung ort two below Rachel Zegler in terms of being insufferable, and the absence of legacy cast screams that this will be one of those hubris-filled "we wanted to reflect a modern audience" travesties like Amazon Prime's "Rings of Power" that cares nothing for fan wishes or source material. Fourth - you KNOW that the script is going to have a strong wamen save the day while simultaneously deliberately making the male characters look like weak, incompetent dolts. I wouldn't be surprised if all the legacy male characters are killed, and Turner-Smith is the hero and the focus of any Tron property moving forward. Fifth - I have no confidence in Rønning - he's basically a Norwegian Brett Ratner. Sixth - again, since Disney can't be trusted, at this point I'd rather see a third Tron film written by an AI and have all CGI generated characters and vocal recreations of Bridges, Boxleitner, Morgan, Hedlund, and others' voices. Such a film would almost assuredly not be any worse than what fans will probably get, and highly probable that it would actually be better.

Whenever a movie title literally has the sequel number making up part of the title as a stupid gimmick. you just know it's a failure, case in point Expenda4les. But no Elaine you're totally on the money here, the fact the legacy characters of the o.g. tron actor, Bridge's Flynn and Sam & Quorra are not present in this shows Disney are going for a more soft-reboot aimed purely at a whole new generation. Disney are stupid, because they must be aware Jared Letto has been badly miscast in a number of movies recently, and this whole plot of most the movie being set in our REAL WORLD; maybe Disney think they're going to capture gen-x/z who are all into live-streaming, cloud gaming, hanging out on twitch, fortnite and all that popular jazz (i know this because this is my sister's 11yro twin girls). I think this is going to backfire hard on Disney because if this is what they're going with and this whole idea of Leto's "Ares" character, passing through to our real world and there being some consequences, such a serious tone here will only put off the younger generations; they favor movies like this to be more in that silly, lighthearted, goofy and witty comedic tone, more akin to movies like *Free Guy*. So yeah all Disney are going to end up doing is making a movie that no one will really be able to get into. Us actual tron fans who loved the original as well as "tron: legacy", we're all expecting that consistency and real continuation, where we can catch up on whats happened with tron and flynn, but also where Sam and Quorra have ended up. I predict this Ares sequel try and have it's cake and eat it, there will be some very short scenes of the o.g. tron and Flynn somewhere; Disney will heavily use these clips in the trailer to try bait-and-switch us all into cinemas, expecting to see those guys. they'll be a mention of Sam and Quorra, but it won't work because we've ALL been there before already.

Tron 2 was so much stronger visually and audibly than Tron 1, I think it’s possible Tron 3 could still be great. It just takes care. And unlike Star Wars and Marvel Tron is Disney legacy. I think they're not wrong, Having Joachim Ronning as the main director instead of Joseph Kosinski is really concerning. If you look at Joachim's last movie it was a box office failure. Disney had the golden opportunity to get Cillian Murphy to reprise his role as Ed Dillinger JR and Joseph Kosinski who directed Top Gun Maverick to return and direct the next installment as well. Every time leto is on-screen it ruins a scene for me. I can’t even imagine just how much “footage” they had to cut out of his over-acting in Blade Runner 2049. Made worse by being directly opposite Harrison Ford who was perfectly simply _being_ Deckard.

About Tron and Daft Punk... when Tron Legacy was announced...and heard that Sound I decided to build up a Music Project inspired by that Soundtrack: SYNTHONIE was born. SYNTHONIE is insanly inspired by Daft Punks Tron Soundtrack. So I made my own AI that I call: Syndarella. I lost all interest in Tron 3 when they signed Leto. He's just not that good of an actor. Every performance I've seen him in, is mediocre at best, and just plain bad at worse. Combine every other misstep they keep making where the franchise is concerned year after year after year. It's almost like Disney is going out of it's way to make the most epic failure of a film they can make, on purpose.

I don't care too much about casting if they at least if they at least can retain core concepts and the bloody brilliant action direction not seen in any other film out there. Current Disney does not have the talent, and the Tron canon is incompatible with the DEI agenda. If Legacy was made today, CLU would have had the moral high ground, because his "perfect system" is a great proxy for a Marxist society. The fact that he is the young and naive version of Flynn really hammers it home. (not that this was intended by the writers, but when you use archetypes in writing, narrative depth is inevitable)

Both Morbius was edited and reedited by Sony several times before the film was released, both that and Suicide Squad could do with a directors cut to show directors original vision on the big screen. I did enjoy Morbius but wasn't happy with editing of Vulture scene from the trailer to the finished result.
