My girlfriends PT actually taught her the Is with arms down by the side and squeezing and pulling the shoulder blades down. So really a different exercise than the video’s Is. These are very important exercises to anyone who has neglected shoulder blades, so like 90% of the population. These are all very small muscles around the shoulder blades that you’ll be working with these exercises. That means it’s important to do these without weights unless you’ve done them for a while and progressed. And if you do use weights, start with 1 or 2 pounds only, as these are such tiny muscles and easy to damage.

should the T's be done thumbs up? i get conflicting advice on this

I prefer the Thumbs up position because it almost automatically "packs" the shoulders. Nothing is wrong with a "knuckles up" position, just make sure those shoulders are packed towards your hips and not climbing toward your ears.

Hi, are these exercices good fir adressing bursitis/impingement ?

So long as 1, it doesn't cause any irritation, and 2, you focus on getting your shoulders retracted and depressed so they don't "roll forward" while you move your arms back. Let us know how it goes and if you have any other questions.
