You are true about the locals: they are very friendly. I went to Ireland in the 90s. Toured the Ring of Kerry and saw the tour bus go almost halfway off the cliff to make a turn. Yes, the roads are tiny, but I had one of the best times of my life. Thanks for the video! From America.

@fluffyduckbutter's sister the cheapest place to buy right now is County Leitrim. Lots of liveable small cottages and farmhouses, even cheaper if you buy to fix up. It's near the coast, (even has a tiny coastline of a few km) near the border with the UK, has the Shannon Blueway with great rivers loughs and canals, lots of mountains and hiking trails. However it can be wet due to the bad weather coming in off the Atlantic, and with the mountains and loughs, that encourages precipitation. County Leitrim will benefit from extra government spending this year on town centre improvements, cycle paths, road upgrades, tourist advertising, other things. Hope that helps.

Loved the video about Ireland. I would love to visit there. I do have a questions, I'm from the US. I understand that we drive on the opposite sides of the road from u all. Do u think it would be hard to drive there??? R the road signs pretty easily read also? Keep up the great work.

As a Brit who’s lives in Ireland for 10 years, theirs a couple of points that might help you. Those washing machines are also in most supermarket car parks as well. You also missed out on the coastal town car parks, as they’re now being set up especially for camper vans with bins, waste disposal and water facilities. Here in Cobh (and a lot more tourist towns that I’ve found) theirs specific parking spaces especially for campers These are normally about €10 a night and are right in the tourist hotspots

Bit biased here..am Irish living here all of my life...must categorically agree with you both..Ireland is STUNNING..and the locals are BRILLIANT. No local needs to kiss the Blarney stone. Great video. I live in Northern Ireland, quite close to the Causeway in fact. I can confirm your statement on fuel prices between the both countries. Loved the vid, Me and my partner (she is originally from up in the North of Ireland) went there and Hired a motorhome from Belfast in February after doing a canal boat in England. We traveled north to Bushmills and then headed west to do the Atlantic Way all the way to the bottom and then Waterford before finishing up in Dublin to fly to the Canary Islands before flying home to Australia. We mainly parked behind pubs outside of towns which was dangerous as we got to party with some amazing locals. The narrow roads were a challenge but because it was winter we did not have much traffic to pass. Our biggest problem was if we wanted to park up at a van park, most were shut because it was off season. And most the car parks have bars at the entrance so only cars can get in. Most of our friends here thought we were crazy going that time of year but we got lucky and got home before the virus and they have had to cancel holidays. Love Ireland and the very friendly people. cheers.

I watched this video, from here on the west coast of Canada, where I've lived all my life, and found it very interesting indeed. Our motorhome is 36' feet long and weighs 30,000 lbs, so it seems the small roads of Ireland wouldn't be very hospitable, as I'm generally on interstate highways for the most part, and stay in campsites with power, as we have a residential refrigerator that uses a lot of power, similar to a home, which has water & ice in the fridge as well. Many folks, live full time here in Canada and the United States in our larger motorhomes, but it's truly much different as we have a full bathroom, shower, generator, four push-outs, washer & drier on board, and many have solar panels, so it's much like having a sticks & bricks home on wheels! It can be expensive, but as you've said here, it's a lifestyle, that many millions of North Americans enjoy. I love to hear that the Irish are friendly, as even here in Canada, it's a well known statement, and generally most Canadians are very friendly as well. Thanks for the video, and I'll have to try and find more of those you've produced for sure!

We are delighted you like the videos - yep the roads in North America are perfect for bigger rigs ... and some of the roads in Ireland would / could accommodate big rigs but not the little side roads and mountain passes - just the towns and cities 👍

I love Donegal, we stayed in a cottage owned by an Irish friend's family. When we got there "Aunty Mary" brought us a big plate of home made scones which was nice but this happened every day! She came to play Queeny (card game) with us and our 3 young daughters every night, took our eldest daughter out to Bingo, looked after them and sent us to the pub for a night out. We could not have asked for a more hospitable hostess if we tried. And the beaches up there - fantastic white sandy beaches just amazing but a bit wild! I'd love to go back.

Duncannon beach is only about 20 minutes from me. It's a lovely spot. Next time you come back, make sure to visit the Copper Coast here in Waterford if you haven't yet. Also rent some bicycles if you don't have any and cycle the Déise Greenway here. It's very scenic. If you need any other spots, just let me know. I've drove from tip to tip many times.

Thanks for such a great video, I really enjoyed it. I soon will be a newby to the world of the motorhome and I can’t wait. So all videos of information, tips etc are all welcome. I lost my mother a few years ago and her will has been rather complicated and very much drawn out but at last it’s soon to be settled and mother bless her always knew that I dreamed of owning a motorhome and now thanks to her that dream will soon be coming true. So if you see a bloke in a motorhome with two black Labradors with a smile from ear to ear on your travels, it just could be me.

Great video! Thanks for posting! My son (23 yrs) and I (61 yrs) are planning a trip in this spring (May/June 2024). We're thinking of renting a camper van as we are already avid campers in the United States. Wondering if those wild campsites are still available 5 years after your trip. I'm seeing information that wild camping isn't allowed. Anyway, thank you so much! It was very helpful!

Did you plan your overnight stops ahead of time or just trust you could find a pull off when you needed it? I'll be going to Ireland in June with my husband and 6 year old son, we'll be driving a rented motorhome (that has toilet, kitchen, and shower) and I'm trying to figure out how much to plan. It will be my first time in Ireland and first time traveling in a campervan, so as much as I'd like to do the wild camping thing (and not spend hours and hours painstakingly making a plan that we'll then be tied down to), I am a bit nervous about it.

The WAW was great because you just followed the signs - if you plan to leave early and park up before 2 you will find somewhere on the way - depending on the time of year it might be harder - but park4night and google will help you find a place and pubs / restaurants sometimes let you stop over if you eat … Kat from Wandering Bird is there at the moment check her out 👍🌺
