Unfortunately in most of the country there aren't vegan meet ups and events. I don't know any other vegans, and hunting is very popular here so i doubt I'll ever meet a vegan guy...but hey you never know, the world is changing and anything is possible. They need to get that vegan dating app for android, last i heard it was just iphone.

You can actually create your own meetup. A meet up is just what it is- A meet up. You can advertise on what ever platform you are on or go to where ever vegans go and spread the message. I bet many vegans would be interested including myself. There are meetups where I live but if there wasn't I would consider making one.

I just wanted to comment on the relationship thing because it's been a process for us just like most relationships. I went vegan after being married for 23 years, being raised on a cattle ranch, and raising 3 non-vegan kids. I am still married (30 years now) but my husband is still NOT a vegan. I still cook meat for family when we come together - I do make sure it is organic, humanely raised and preferably from a known farm/ranch ... Compromise goes both ways with us. I can't push my convictions on him and I love him whether he agrees with me or not. I was vegetarian for 6 years before going vegan, but he has never been anything but carnivorous. He does eat at vegan places with me, but I would say 85% of our eating out is Vegan friendly so we can both order what we enjoy. I just wanted to say, it CAN work. Love wins out.

I would be ok working for somebody as long as they also had vegan options. As far as having to put meat in my mouth goes I would just try to work around that with them. All I could do is try to manifest that everything would go great and I they wouldn't try to make me. Or maybe I would just try to have faith or manifest and work towards getting 100% vegan opportunitys in the first place.

nematoad I have it in my contract that I won’t work for certain companies or eat meat on camera because I can’t even fathom doing that! But I don’t judge others who have agents who are less understanding or who don’t have it in their contract just because I never like to assume I know everything about a person. I’ve never had to do anything that doesn’t agree with my morals and I think it’s because I’ve manifested it in my life 🤗❤️

When those people on his dates say they won't try vegan food I guess they mean vegan meats/cheeses etc, not like a chickpea, sweet potato and spinach curry etc? That's not vegan alternatives. That's just normal food lol. Love this topic guys. Love your content. 👍🙌🌿

Advice for getting back into veganism? I was SO passionate when I first started a year ago but lately I haven’t been passionate at all. I think it’s from being so isolated and not having vegan friends or family members and people constantly putting me down or being rude about it and loosing my friends over it. Lately I feel like what’s the point and so isolated, I don’t know what to do 💔😞

amongtheH2O my advice is to remind yourself why you went vegan in the first place. Your body deserves to be healthy, the animals deserve to live, earth deserves to be loved. Watch more youtubers so you can feel less alone. Follow happy animals on Instagram so it will be easier for you to refuse animal products. Join vegan groups on Facebook, they're very supportive. Don't give up on what you believe.
@alishaharris
@alishaharris 6 жыл бұрын
amongtheH2O I don't know if this is an option for you, but look for a vegan festival nearby. Also, when I started feeling lonely, I downloaded the app MeetUp and found a ton of vegan dinner and event groups. It's a lot easier to take the ridicule when you can share that pain with others.
@mecrmaale
@mecrmaale 6 жыл бұрын
what do you think about the people who works in slaughtersouses or in the dairy industry?
@alishaharris
@alishaharris 6 жыл бұрын
alejandro medellin I feel like those working for the slaughterhouses typically don't have a choice and are also taken advantage of by the company, just like the animals are. Most of those employees are immigrants or descend from immigrants, so they're very poor and will only get work from those slaughterhouses. It just breaks my heart, especially considering how often those companies withhold pay and deport them or sell them out instead. A big reason I went vegan was for the people. Not only for world hunger, but for the people who don't get a choice to decide if what they're doing is wrong. A lot of dairy workers, on the other hand, I struggle with thinking that they're good people. I want to believe that everyone has good in them, but I don't understand how you could take a baby from its mother or be okay with locking millions of chickens in dark rooms and refeeding them their dead. It makes me feel so sick. Small farm workers who collect eggs and milk and stuff, I think are just ignorant to the environmental impact and effects on world hunger. What do you think?
@mecrmaale
@mecrmaale 6 жыл бұрын
Alisha Harris yeah, you're right i think the same way. These people have to work and they dont have opportunities. But what can we do for them? The world right now is so wrong that of we want to change something we have to change almost everyrhing.

Besides showing documentaries maybe just keep not eatting the meat and they will start making you more "sides" they won't want you to go hungry or waste the meat. Show your serious about what you won't eat.

I would suggest bringing it up to your Dr at your next checkup. Maybe if your Dr assures your mother that you can be healthy AND be veggie, she would be more willing.
@ivybelle3337
@ivybelle3337 6 жыл бұрын
Be assertive and adamant about it. Be strong and don't give up. Refuse to eat meat and they will come to understand you are serious about this and that this isn't a phase or some trend. Show them the research and the documentaries. I had the privilege of cooking an entire Christmas dinner because I told my family I wouldn't spend Christmas with them if dead animals were served. My mom said she wouldn't know what to cook. I told her not to worry about it and I'll cook the entire meal if she wants. I made all meals from #hotforfood. Lauren veganizes all the comfort foods we grew up eating!

What are the reasons all of you went vegan and what is the ONE reason you stay vegan?
@Shannonsense
@Shannonsense 6 жыл бұрын
I never thought about commercials/acting, wow! I think it would be fine advertising for non vegan places (I mean there’s vegan options everywhere even if it’s lettuce haha) and wearing leather for a role, it’s not yours. But eating meat that’s not fake I think would be really hard because I might actually throw up haha. I think I would draw the line there, but I don’t know I’m not in the situation. An example in everyday life is I live in Cincinnati and the company P&G is here. They reached out to me once to apply. They make many household products like Crest etc. which all test on animals! I thought to myself how hard it would be working for a company daily that tests on animals for each product. I luckily already had a job and did not apply though.

Just read title, but no it's not. A trend is temporary & this is something that once you do & do well you stick with it. I am glad it's now out there enough to be even considered a trend even though I don't like that term because it invokes something temporary. I like to see it as the society is becoming largely more awake to what is real & what is right.
@ccap3211

Ronni Hatcher it is super trendy right now though. And unfortunately it usually is a trend. 80 percent of vegans don’t don’t stay vegan. They go back to either being a vegetarian or eating meat entirely.
@ronnihatcher295
@ronnihatcher295 6 жыл бұрын
Your talking to a life long vegan. 28 years. I don't know if your facts are true or not. 80%? Can you give me your source I am just genuinely curious to that information. I am naturally curious. I can see how it's could very well be that high because those didn't do it well or try as much as they could it's easy to go with what is easy like return to what most of society does instead of what is at first challenging especially if you have done something else for so long like eat meat your whole life then switch to not doing that plus Society pressure, marketing pressure of businesses, yeah I see how a person could go back to eating meat lots of things about the world of man are set up to keep you from ever seeing & staying with it. It's my norm for eating though & society following the majority of others has never been a need of mine. So I can listen with a open mind to anyone, but I can't see why most find it so difficult. I find it freeing eating this way.
@ccap3211
@ccap3211 6 жыл бұрын
Ronni Hatcher congrats on 28 years! That’s amazing. I went vegan for about a year and then went back to eating dairy and eggs and fish. Even when I was vegan I was screwing up all the time and would sowntimes eat non vegan foods (usually sweets) when no one was around. I found it really difficult because my husband isn’t vegan and I have to cook non vegan food for him (he refuses to eat vegan and I don’t think it’s fair to suddenly stop cooking him the food I’ve always cooked for him because I want to change my diet especially since I wasn’t vegan when we got together). Also I cook/bake for a living and I have to follow a menu and absolutely none of it is vegan. I am preparing new foods everyday and I have to be able to taste the food I’m cooking/baking. Plus it’s just extremely difficult to be in the kitchen at my work surrounded by so much really good food that I’m allowed to eat for free and to not to touch any of it. It takes so much willpower and self control! I know these are excuses and it wouldn’t be impossible for me to be vegan but I find it so challenging! Honestly that was the most difficult part, resisting all the non vegan food at my work and at my house. I haven’t gone back to eating meat though so I guess that’s some progress. If you have any advice I’d love to hear it!

ccap3211 thank you & yes nothing worth it is easy & it's ok plenty of long term vegans have made mistakes and eaten something with dairy or egg in it. Brush it off & remember it's not about perfection, but I personally wouldn't eat it on purpose though. As soon as you think that way you add unnecessary pressure on something that's actually quite easy given mindset. I also have a someone who was not vegan as well for a long time we were together. I told him I will cook for ya from now on, but it won't be anything with that stuff in it. I made him a lentils loaf that night & he was confused he said I thought you said you wouldn't make stuff like this babe. Well that lead to a conversation I will always treasure. Lovely memory. So he went vegan & now he understands why I stuck to it even if it may have put pressure on the relationship. He respects me for having my balls as he says lol. I didn't see it like that, but yeah guess so. Been together 6 years now. He's a bigger active advocate than me now.😎 thanks for the info too. I will have a read over that. A lot of those foods you speak of are just as yummy vegan. Think of it as not you can't, but don't want to touch those foods. Empower yourself not think of it as can't have. It's a stand on something a declaration of you not wanting to participate in something like eating chicken periods, dead things, & breast milk from another mother. Spices & sauces are really what give everything its signature flavors. Play with spices a lot. That's my advice. I use to throw all kinds of spices together as a kid not knowing too much at the time what it would taste like together, but it always tasted amazing and rarely not. Remember it's fun not work discovering new things sure haveing a tried and true recipe is good, but have fun with it and make something a bit different the next time you make that tried and true recipe. Just yesterday I made homemade tortillas & I had left over dough & I simply did not want to waste it so I thought oh I have some mixed fruit in a bowl with a little bit of sugar and a splash of Apple cider vinegar in it already made I was planning to pair with my bell pepper & onion fajjitas I really love that recipe of mine it's made with soy sauce! Anyway so I rolled that dough out & made a lovely tart on the spot quick as you please. 👍
