Wow, so far the stats on this video are fascinating! Worst performing video I've ever released ha! I wonder if that's because literally nobody is interested, or if KZbin have auto-buried it because one of their competitors is in the title and the tags 🤔

Well I watched it and live streaming is of totally no use to me! 😆 Made the washing up less dull though. I do enjoy a good rant! 😄

Platforms like YT definitely have algorithm killer words. LinkedIn has it for sure, if I ever release a video with some sort of competing social platform mentioned in the tags (twitter, instagram etc.) I notice a significant drop in the reach. Platform algorithms naturally try to keep viewers on the platform (more clicks = more ads) so a word like Vimeo I expect is right at the bottom of words to promote. I've also just noticed in general that the audience on YT for AEC is dwindling right now, Covid took its toll. Lots of people moved away from the industry in pursuit of more stable professions with a brighter future. Heck, even the B1M's views are down. Hopefully some heavyweights like Google/Tesla/Amazon come and take a decent swing and push the industry back up which should drive up general interest in the topics we cover.

@@AussieBIMGuru YT hast started to put endless ads in videos (at least in germany). This is one reason for me to avoid YT atm. If I really want to watch a video I download it without watching it online. @TFI maybe you should have a look at the vimeo help center or just use google for a tutorial ^^

No re: ""auto buried" no. I"m a KZbinr too and it s easy to blame the algo-! Honestly you took WAY TOO LONG TO GET TO THE POINT. I honestly didn't want to click as I saw the video length. If you made a tight video 8-10 minute REVIEW AS PROMISED it would have done better. We come to YT often to gt answer to a question. So far 3 MIN IN you are still talking about stuff that is off topic. Again I know from watching successful YT tips channels and my own, if I wonder off folks click off!

When a user toggles the "Preview Before Going Live" switch, it creates a latency issue which makes the delay worse. The delay latency is reduced to less than 10 seconds in live stream when "low latency" is selected and the preview is off. FYI

The first thing I saw when you opened the back-end was: live events. I was screaming to the screen: that's where the f-ing button is. I've never used Vimeo, but I think you lack the experience on livestreaming (at least up to this video) and it's not necessary Vimeo's stupidity. Off course there's a delay on livestreaming. If you don't want to, just use Zoom or a webinar program. In the end it's the wrong choice of software instead of the software being not good. Either way, thanks for the video, but I need another one for good information.

I have just emailed vimeo with a complaint and suggested that they watch this video. I've experienced everything you mention. We actually use Vimeo as a back up platform now, just in case our replacement to Vimeo live goes down. I was going to get rid of it completely, but effectively now paying for a very expensive back-up. Vimeo used to be amazing. Now it seems like they have a bunch of ux designers who don't talk to each other. The ux honestly looks like it's been designed by a 3 year old, and on the live admin side, it's actually quite dangerous - buttons don't always do what they say they are going to do. I've also noticed the speed & responsiveness of the site has got worse over the years - which is particularly worrying if you are relying on them to deliver live content.

Now they offer ultra-low latency option for Enterprise. Below 1 sec delay, if I believe the sales agent.

Have you tested the new feature low latency with vimeo? The promise having a much better latency? would be great if you test it and give a review about it?

There quality is that good because of the stream delay, they are prioritizing quality over latency, this has always been there motto

I got off a call with one of the sales guys asking questions about the premium package because there's literally no information on the website. It sounded like a good idea, mainly because of the embed feature, but I was stuck wondering about the actual interface. There seem to be no videos on this, except for this, thank god. totally not worth the buy, thank you! I was almost about to pitch this as an option to my team.

Thanks for posting this. My company is in the same boat. We are looking for a near real time live streaming solution to either supplement or replace our current video conferencing. Just wondering if you found another live streaming solution that works for you and if you'd be willing to share.

What is a better streaming platform ? KZbin codec's tend to make the video compressed & laggy for live event. Got a good alternative ?

KZbin has 18 sec delay as well. It's not a zoom meeting.

You can choose your own delay settings in KZbin
@dbtech62722 жыл бұрын
i think for what you need its not really a live stream event tho, when involving interaction requirements specially real time i believe would be better to work over a conferencing call tho instead tho. 15 secs its actually pretty decent delay for live stream, seen worse and seen better but thats not too bad.

Hi, I want to create a student help website where teachers/mentors can offer live video chats for students. These sessions (20-30 mins.) will be paid for by the student before accessing the live session. I want student to access teacher profile, pay for the access to the live stream and then be able to open the live stream. I use Wordpress and Elementor, is that possible? Any idea or suggestion is highy appreciated :)

How did you get one? Who did you end up going with? I'm building a WP site with Beaver Builder and looking to implement live video sessions for students as well.

I disagree with your views. It took you 11 minutes to find the live event option, really? If you looked at the screen without your bias you may have seen it sooner.
