The line work for the action scenes reminds of other artist who draw similar effects for speed. So maybe that how Sollidia got the drop on Darak this time around, she had an opportunity to catch him off guard

Definitely, De Felici is certainly not the only one to use the technique, but I like how it's employed. And that's a fair point about Solila getting the drop on Darak - you're probably right about that.

Glad to see a Quintesson outside of the Judge used. Hopefully this early bird appearance means the Qs will be major players from the start, and we can get some good development of their culture like I mentioned on the last discussion.

I hope so! I like the Quintessons quite a bit, so I would love to see them get something more substantial! If they fleshed out their society and/or history in this universe...well, I'd be a happy camper.

Yeah, I agree the transformers reference use in Void Rivals doesn’t get in the way of their own conflict and characters. As for the age of wrath, in the aligned continuity it how Quinesstons took over cybertron and made the caste system in the first place, but the prosecutor makes it sound that they done that on more than cybertron so interesting food for thought

I agree Void Rivals seems to tease that the universe isn’t Transformer central. Instead is just a universe that has them in it.

I overall enjoyed this issue and I'm loving the world-building outside of transformers.Though the references to transformers has me thinking about implications. Like the fact that the handroid doesn't recognize the quintessons species or that Jetfire is cybertronian. Plus the mention that the age of wrath was centuries ago, makes me think that the war hasn't been going on as long as it has in other continuities. Assuming that the age of wrath was similar to what it was in the aligned continuity. Or more likely the war not as sprawling as IDW1 was. Seeing as Jetfire believes he has been gone for millions of years, though he doesn't have any insignia.

Thanks! Glad to hear you're enjoying the book - I am, too. And that's an interesting point about how long the war has maybe been going on. It might be a small detail, but I wouldn't mind if they changed it up and had the war being a more recent development. I'm hoping we get more info about the Quintessons and what exactly the Age of Wrath entails in this universe, because you're right - there's a lot of questions and implications.

The gigantic asteroid with mechanical arms. It might be tricky to pinpoint the FFoD season 3 intro because it wasn't usually seen over the usually, favored Season 3 intro. Try looking up the ffod season 3 intro.

Interesting! Sounds like I need to brush up on Rom. In the letters column for this issue, Kirkman was noncommittal about other Hasbro properties like Rom, saying not to expect anything beyond Transformers and G.I. Joe for a while...but maybe this is a tease for much further down the line?

The Void Rivals characters might prove to be physically MUCH larger than humans- based on their size compared with the Quintesson Prosecutor. If they're using the Transformers movie as scaling reference, the Prosecutor is about as tall as Kup- and Kup is much larger than human scale.

That's an interesting point! I actually forgot the Quintessons were so large in the animated continuity. I'll have to check my copies of Void Rivals, but I seem to remember Shockwave towering over both the Prosecutor and Skuxxoid, so maybe they shrunk them down in this continuity?

@@Moonbase3 it's quite possible. The Prosecutor was only onscreen a few seconds, so a little tweaking wouldn't be noticed. I'm actually repainting and adding details to a Quintesson Judges toy right now, so they're kinda on my mind.
